About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Developer to join a fast-growing data and analytics programme. This role sits at the intersection of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and AI-enabled data platforms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining Microsoft Fabric data products, Power BI reporting solutions, and data pipelines that support both business stakeholders and AI-driven solutions.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited to someone who enjoys building, maintaining, and improving data solutions rather than operating purely at an architectural level.
The role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to work with modern Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Services, and AI-related data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft Fabric Development
Build and maintain solutions within Microsoft Fabric Workspaces.
Develop and support Fabric Lakehouses.
Design and maintain Dataflows Gen2.
Understand and manage data movement throughout the Fabric ecosystem.
Maintain Fabric semantic models and reporting datasets.
Power BI Development
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
Build scalable and well-structured semantic models.
Develop advanced DAX measures and calculated columns.
Create meaningful visualisations and reporting solutions for business stakeholders.
Optimise report performance and usability.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
Build and maintain data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
Ingest data from multiple sources including:
SQL Databases
APIs
SharePoint Lists
CSV and Flat Files
External Data Sources
Implement data transformation and cleansing processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
SQL Development
Write complex SQL queries for reporting and transformation purposes.
Develop views and transformation logic.
Create data structures that support analytics and AI workloads.
Ensure data quality and consistency across reporting layers.
Python / PySpark Development
Develop and maintain Fabric notebooks.
Perform data transformation using Python and PySpark.
Support automation and data engineering activities.
Work with GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
AI Data Platform Support
Support AI-enabled data environments.
Prepare and maintain Gold Layer datasets.
Assist with Azure AI Search indexing and synchronisation.
Support Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) data structures.
Ensure AI solutions have access to accurate, current, and well-governed data.
Platform Operations
Monitor data pipeline health and reliability.
Troubleshoot data quality and integration issues.
Ensure business-critical reporting environments remain operational.
Stay current with Microsoft Fabric enhancements and new platform capabilities.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, applicants must have:
4–8 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Analytics Development.
Proven hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
Experience working with:
Fabric Workspaces
Lakehouses
Dataflows Gen2
Strong Power BI development experience.
Strong data modelling capability.
Advanced SQL skills.
Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
Python and/or PySpark experience.
Experience working with data orchestration and scheduling tools.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
A genuine interest in AI-enabled data platforms and emerging technologies.

Relevant hands-on experience will be considered more important than certifications alone.
