What the posting says

Who we are

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies, from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups, use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and pursue new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet. We have significant work ahead, which gives you the opportunity to do important work that expands access to the global economy.

About the team

The APAC Risk team helps Stripe launch and grow products responsibly. We work closely with global Product, Partnerships, and Risk teams to identify product risks early, define practical controls, and make risk decisions easier to execute at scale.

What you’ll do

As a Risk Strategist, you will help Stripe launch new Local Payment Methods (LPMs) and other products safely as part of our broader global expansion efforts. You will be part of a team that identifies, assesses, and manages risk across LPMs and other product launches. Your focus will be on building agent-based workflows that help scale LPM launches and related risk assessments across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Identify risk scenarios associated with new products, product changes, and LPM initiatives. Translate those scenarios into clear requirements, controls, and actions for different cross-functional teams

Improve and automate product-risk workflows through AI tools, data, and agent-based solutions. Define and build consistent, scalable processes with reduced manual load

Help set the risk strategy and operating approach for product launches, including how teams assess risk, record decisions, and monitor outcomes

Communicate complex risk issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, with practical recommendations that support responsible product growth

Help define metrics that track risk exposure, control effectiveness, and operational efficiency

Build strong working relationships across Risk and Product, and help align teams when trade-offs or ambiguity arise

Develop expertise that can support adjacent product-risk areas over time, including fraud

Who you are

You are comfortable working in ambiguous spaces where products, risks, and processes are still being defined. You can reason through risk scenarios, bring structure to complex questions, and work with technical partners to turn recommendations into scalable solutions.

You are also motivated by improving how work gets done. You do not only identify risks. You look for ways to make risk assessment, decision-making, and monitoring more automated, consistent, and useful for the teams building Stripe products.

Minimum requirements

5+ years of experience in risk, financial services, fintech, product strategy, data, or a related field

Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, especially Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, or Partnerships

Strong analytical judgment and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations and next steps

Familiarity with and a keen interest in building and applying automation, tools, or agent-based workflows to improve processes and outcomes

Experience using data to investigate problems, assess performance, or inform decisions

Ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders and build alignment across teams with different priorities

Preferred qualifications

Experience assessing risk for new products, product launches, or material product changes

Experience in payments, product risk, platform risk, fraud, or financial crimes

Experience using and building agentic workflows and using AI tools to simplify processes

Experience with SQL, data analysis, data science workflows, or building operational tools

Experience working with technical teams to define requirements and improve internal systems or processes

Familiarity with risk-control design, monitoring, or policy development

Completeness: 45%
