Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Support Geoscientist to join our Middle East team. As Technical Support, you are responsible to support the development of projects that demonstrate the unique value brought on by GeoSoftware’s technology (Jason, HampsonRussell, VelPro & InsightEarth); provide assistance to the business development group in terms of aiding in customer discussions to discover pain, identify potential solutions & suggest paths to address such pain, either via a professional service engagement or software licensing + mentoring; and collaborate alongside our R&D group in developing new workflows and techniques to tackle challenges not explicitly documented. The role will work with the Business Managers, Regional Manager, and the technical team of the Middle East Region, but will also be in contact with our global Research and Development team. This role reports to the Region Technical Manager for the Middle East.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Professional Services

Work with the Business Managers and Regional Technical Manager to ensure that our customers are getting the most value using GeoSoftware’s technology to address their needs.

Ensure alongside the Regional Technical Manager of realistic scope and deliverables of professional services engagements.

Perform regular Peer Reviews of work done in accordance with agreed scope.

Provide input on ways to improve workflows and the software.

Assist with region support efforts to drive customer success while using our technology.

Secure appropriate delivery and consumption of the reservoir characterization products by customers to ensure appropriate business impact is generated.

Deliver training and mentoring to customers.

Assist in development of new technology that could be implemented in our software packages.

Upkeep of weekly timesheets and activities journal for effort tracking on different projects/activities.

Manage new technology

Provide active feedback on required software development and problems as reported by customers and self.

Keep track of key technologies in the QI & AI/ML domain.

Liaise between Customers and Product Development to align software requests into product development targets.

Business

Active participation in developing technical strategy alongside the Regional Technical Manager.

Support sales activities to help identify new opportunities for the region.

Support development of proper sales presentations, software demonstrations and software evaluations to drive software & professional services sakes.

Collaborate in designing annual regional external (customer-facing) training program.

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Proficiency – Ability to quickly learn and support complex geoscience software tools.

Customer Service Orientation – Skilled in building rapport with clients and addressing their needs effectively.

Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to construct best practices, guidelines and technical workflows to both clients and staff.

Training & Presentation – Confident in delivering engaging and informative training sessions and product demos.

Problem Solving – Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Team Collaboration – Works well with cross-functional teams and contributes to shared goals.

Adaptability – Comfortable working in dynamic environments and learning new technologies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geophysics, Geology, Geoscience, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.

Strong understanding of geoscience workflows and software applications.

Experience with GeoSoftware or similar geoscience software tools.

Extensive experience instructing training courses and technical support.

Extensive experience using one or more of the GeoSoftware family of products (Jason, HampsonRussell, PowerLog or InsightEarth)

Well versed with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Understanding of licensing software and the usage of Windows / Linux

Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
