About AlphaHire Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL)

The AlphaHire Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL) is an applied research initiative studying how workforce conditions influence delivery of mission-critical investments and public programs. WIL builds methodology-transparent workforce intelligence and STEM education and workforce research partnerships with universities, community colleges, and K-14 partners — packaged for grant and sponsored-research pursuits.

Learn more:

We engage experienced researchers and practitioners for both full-time employment and project-based contract roles, depending on the award and staffing model. Engagements are remote-first with travel as required for partner campuses, school districts, and field sites. We build ready teams for live grant and sponsored-research pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.

This opportunity is contingent upon grant or sponsored-project award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal or funding package.

WIL is seeking Adjunct / Affiliated Research Faculty in STEM education and workforce domains — including engineering education, computer science education, teacher research experiences, technician education pathways, and related STEM learning and workforce research — to serve as research collaborators, co-investigators, or content leads with university and community-college partners on WIL-aligned sponsored projects.

What you'll do:

Contribute STEM education or engineering/CS education research design, methods, and scholarly framing for university-hosted sponsored projects

Collaborate with institutional PIs, school-district or community-college partners, and WIL research leads on research questions, curricula translation, and broader-impacts narratives

Support K-14 educator research-experience models, classroom/curriculum follow-on, and workforce pathway documentation when the project design calls for it

Produce high-quality written products — literature framing, methods sections, evaluation plans, progress reports, and past-performance narrative — suitable for NSF-style and related education packages

Contribute specialist qualifications and citeable past projects to WIL grant and sponsored-research packages when permissioned

Requirements

Required:

Doctorate or equivalent scholarly credentials in engineering education, STEM education, computer science education, learning sciences, or a closely related field — or substantial faculty-equivalent research experience in those domains

Demonstrated record of STEM education, teacher professional development, technician education, or engineering/CS education research (publications, funded projects, or citeable institutional roles)

Ability to collaborate with university or community-college sponsored-research teams and K-14 or industry education partners

Open to full-time employment or project-based contract engagement; remote-first with travel as partner and field work requires

Nice to have:

Prior NSF STEM education, RET Site, ATE, RIEF/RFE, IUSE, or related education-research experience as PI, co-PI, senior personnel, or key collaborator

Experience mentoring engineering faculty new to education research, or translating authentic research into K-14 classroom practice

Prior projects you can cite (agency or institution, your role, year)
