What the posting says

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.

SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next.

AI TUTOR, VIDEO - TEMPORARY (WEEKEND SHIFT)

In this role, you will help train and refine Grok's ability to interpret and generate video content with precision and technical depth. You will draw on your background in editing, motion graphics, and visual effects to evaluate and annotate video data that reflects how strong work is made. Your expertise will directly shape Grok's video capabilities, and your work will reach people around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Use proprietary software to provide labels, annotations, and inputs on projects involving video and multimedia elements

Critically analyze and clearly articulate what makes a video sequence work or fail at a technical level

Deliver high-quality curated data that captures the nuances of motion, timing, transitions, and visual effects

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a temporary position with SpaceXSI, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

LENGTH OF POSITION: 6 months (extensions or conversion to a permanent role may be available based on business needs)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1+ years of professional experience (including freelance or contract work) in video editing, motion graphics, VFX, or post-production

Portfolio of video work, such as edited shorts, motion graphics, VFX breakdowns, or compositing reels (personal website, YouTube, Vimeo, X, ArtStation, or equivalent)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Strong skills in video editing, pacing, color grading, and narrative flow

Hands-on proficiency with tools such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Nuke, or similar

Experience with compositing, rotoscoping, motion tracking, or 3D integration (matchmoving, CG compositing)

Familiarity with AI video generation tools (Grok Imagine, Runway, Kling, Sora, Veo, or similar)

Scripting or automation experience in post-production (Python, plugins, or similar)

Clear written and verbal communication in English, including the ability to explain technical and creative decisions

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing to travel to a SpaceXSI site

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
