What the posting says
At Luscii, we work on several applications within the OMRON Digital Health Circle, including the Luscii Thuismeten app and OMRON Connect. Together with our colleagues, we build technology that takes the burden off patients and healthcare professionals, creating more space for care. As an Android Developer, you will help make this happen by building and improving the mobile applications that connect people, devices and healthcare.
We create technology to make healthcare more accessible, as our digital health solutions help healthcare professionals monitor patients remotely, so people can receive the right care in the right place. As an Android Developer, you will help us build and improve the mobile applications that make this possible.
Your work goes beyond writing code. You will help shape technical direction, share your expertise with colleagues and explore new technologies that can improve our apps. At Luscii, our Holacratic way of working also gives you the autonomy to take initiative, pick up responsibilities and contribute beyond your core role.
The applications you build need to work reliably in a healthcare context, where stability and usability matter. You are going to make sure that our apps remain performant, scalable and easy to maintain, while exploring new ways to improve the experience for patients and healthcare professionals. By combining solid engineering with thoughtful technical choices, you will help us continue to develop its digital healthcare platform.
Your role
As Android Developer at Luscii, you will combine hands-on development with technical ownership, working closely with colleagues across development, QA and support to build, improve and maintain our applications. You turn ideas into useful, intuitive digital health solutions. Whether you are exploring a new technology, building a proof of concept or solving a production issue, you will have the autonomy to make technical decisions and the opportunity to influence how we build our apps.
What you will be doing:
Develop and optimise Android applications in Kotlin, with a focus on performance, stability and user experience.
Shape mobile architecture and technical solutions, applying sound software design principles and patterns.
Build prototypes and proof of concepts to explore ideas and validate technical approaches early.
Develop features that communicate with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices.
Investigate and resolve production issues, using debugging and performance analysis to keep our apps reliable.
Review code, share technical guidelines and collaborate with development, QA and support colleagues.
Explore relevant developments in mobile technology, including Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multiplatform, and recommend improvements where they add value.
Why Luscii?
Read more about working at Luscii and how we work at Luscii/OMRON. Together, we are working on a mission to create space for care. Freedom, autonomy and ownership are of great importance in this. You are responsible for your own results and work according to the principles of Holacracy.
Most important benefits
Salary: € 4.600 - € 5.900 gross per month (based on 32 hours per week – that’s full-time at Luscii).
Remote-first: Work from anywhere in The Netherlands. We stay connected through monthly in-person team days called Assemblii.
Flexible setup: Create your own ideal workspace. Whatever works best for you - we’ve got you covered here.
The ideal candidate…
… probably doesn't exist, but if you can tick most of the checkboxes below, please apply! We are looking for somebody who is comfortable in taking ownership and making well-considered decisions independently. You enjoy the autonomy to shape your work and responsibilities, while actively seeking collaboration and alignment with others.
You know when to step up, when to involve colleagues and when to move forward decisively. Working independently does not mean working in isolation for you. You feel at ease being both a self-starter and a committed team player, contributing to shared goals while taking responsibility for your own domain. You value open communication, transparency, and mutual trust.
You have at least five years of experience in Android or mobile development and extensive experience with Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow.
You have a relevant bachelor’s degree in e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a comparable field, combined with experience working in an Agile environment.
You have experience with clean architecture, software design patterns and approaches such as MVVM or MVI, and you understand how to apply them in maintainable mobile applications.
You have experience with Jetpack Compose, mobile unit and/or UI testing, CI/CD pipelines and Android design guidelines.
You understand mobile performance and reliability, including memory management, multithreading, networking, debugging and optimisation, as well as working with web services, cloud platforms and APIs.
You are open to working in a Holacratic organization and curious about our way of organizing work, roles, and responsibilities;
English is our primary language for all internal communication at Luscii, so you're fluent in that language.
