The B2B Associate Interior Designer will support the Business to Business Interiors team and work with the rest of the design, sales and operations teams to pull together projects and presentations for clients. You will also help create a portfolio of projects that can be used as sales tools and marketing collateral to attract new clientele

Project Strategy

Create persuasive design presentations that highlight product solutions and inspire client confidence, helping drive sales and project wins

Specify tailored furniture solutions by leveraging our comprehensive portfolio of products across all 10 brands to meet each client's design, functional, and budgetary objectives

Lead the development of space plans, furniture layouts, and test fits for commercial projects, balancing design intent, operational requirements, accessibility, and building code considerations

Successfully manage a portfolio of concurrent projects while ensuring exceptional project outcomes

Must be able to work with aesthetics of the various Williams-Sonoma brands including West Elm, Pottery Barn, Rejuvenation and Williams Sonoma Home as well as able to cater to individual clients’ tastes and requirements

Proactively support project milestones and key dates

Build business acumen by understanding B2B goals, financial goals, and strategy

Recognize product whitespace and keep track of project trends and needs

Stay on top of current and past industry trends

Team Collaboration

Build strong cross- functional partnerships with our sales team, planning, operations, product development, and sourcing teams to support our customers with the best solutions possible for their projects

Communicate design intent clearly to cross functional partners to ensure a successful project outcome

Assist in tracking and reporting Interior Design project win/loss metrics to support business insights, team performance, and continuous process improvement.

Transport materials and equipment and lift, move and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis

Contribute effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results

Provide insights that align with team objectives

Contribute ideas that support workflow and results

Design Experience

Must provide a portfolio or website of current and past experience

Minimum 3 years Commercial Interior Design experience preferred

Bachelor or Master’s degree in architecture or interior design

Experience designing and/or specifying for Commercial spaces

Aspirational taste level with passion for interiors, home furnishings, color, designer aesthetic, and industry trends

Understanding and enthusiasm for the brand

Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas

Knowledge of contract furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

Creative and inspirational thinker, deadline driven.

Personal Leadership

Ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced environment

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to change

Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented; strong calendar adherence and ownership

Strong time management and communication skills

Strong cross-functional partnership with sales, sourcing, product development, and design partners

Technical Proficiency

Technically versed in Construction Documentation and all phases of Interior Design process

Full proficiency in Mac operating systems with skill excellence in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling where applicable

Understands brand aesthetic and demonstrates creative curiosity

Builds product knowledge and design judgment under guidance

Shows growing business acumen and problem-solving skills

Organizes work effectively and follows through on deliverables

Proactively contributes ideas and engages in the process

Understands calendar, deliverables, and urgency for key deadlines

Collaborates well with cross-functional partners through each project

The expected starting pay range for this position is $60,000-$69,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
