What the posting says
Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role
Square is looking for a B2B Marketing Manager, Social Content to help build our always-on content engine for our B2B audience.
This role sits on the Integrated Marketing team and will focus on content programs that increase Square’s visibility and relevance across priority industries, verticals, and category conversations. You’ll help shape how Square tells its stories across social-first formats, thought leadership, customer storytelling, product narratives, partner moments, and industry content.
You’ll work closely with Brand, Partner Marketing, Creative, Communications, Sales, Social, and other cross-functional teams to develop content that supports Square’s B2B marketing priorities. This role is a good fit for someone who can take inputs from customers, sales, product marketing, and industry conversations and turn them into clear content concepts, formats, and campaigns.
We’re looking for someone who can connect the dots across business priorities, audience insights, and content opportunities, then help bring those ideas to market through clear briefs, strong production workflows, and thoughtful use of AI tools.
You Will
Build and manage an always-on B2B content calendar across priority themes, verticals, campaigns, and moments.
Develop social-first content formats and original content franchises that make Square more visible and relevant in key categories.
Create content programs that bring Square’s industry POV, customer stories, partner stories, product narratives, and market insights to life.
Identify opportunities to tell stronger stories across priority verticals, including restaurants, retail, services, and other key business categories.
Develop thought leadership content that helps Square participate in timely industry and business conversations.
Support customer storytelling and case study efforts by shaping strong story angles and adapting them into social-first formats.
Translate business priorities into clear content concepts, briefs, series, and distribution plans.
Use AI tools and workflows to support content development, including research, ideation, content mapping, repurposing, versioning, briefing, and production planning.
Build repeatable AI-assisted workflows that help the team move from insight to content more efficiently while maintaining accuracy, brand quality, and human judgment.
Partner with Partner Marketing, Sales, Comms, Creative, Brand, and Social to identify moments, shape narratives, and produce content.
Manage content production workflows from concept through launch, including briefs, timelines, stakeholder inputs, approvals, and delivery.
Work with internal creative teams, external partners, freelancers, or agencies to produce high-quality content efficiently.
Track performance across content and social channels, and use insights to refine topics, formats, messaging, and distribution over time.
You Have
6+ years of experience developing B2B content, social content, integrated campaigns, thought leadership, or content marketing programs.
A strong understanding of social-first content, especially for LinkedIn and other platforms where business audiences spend time.
Experience turning complex business topics into clear, compelling content for professional audiences.
Strong instincts for content formats, storytelling, hooks, pacing, and audience relevance.
Experience building or managing content calendars, campaigns, series, or always-on programming.
Experience using AI tools to improve content workflows, speed up content development, or scale content across formats and channels.
Strong judgment around where AI can add leverage and where human strategy, creativity, taste, and review are essential.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to move work from idea to brief to execution.
Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, creative, communications, sales, product, or external partners.
Good judgment around brand voice, accuracy, approvals, and business context.
Comfort balancing proactive content development with incoming business needs in a lean, fast-moving environment.
Bonus
Experience in B2B technology, fintech, commerce, SaaS, restaurants, retail, services, or another business-focused category.
Experience developing executive thought leadership, industry POV content, category campaigns, or recurring content series.
Experience with customer storytelling, case studies, partner marketing, or sales-supporting content.
Familiarity with social analytics, content performance reporting, and optimization.
Experience producing short-form video, event content, interview-based content, or multi-format social campaigns.
Experience managing agencies, freelancers, creators, or production partners.
Experience building AI-assisted content systems, prompt libraries, research workflows, repurposing engines, or content operations processes.
