Position: Bilingual Russian STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety

Type:Contract

Compensation:$48–$52/hour

Location:Remote

Commitment:20+ hours/week

Role Responsibilities

Write expert-level prompts in Russian across specialized scientific topics.

Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.

Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.

Work independently and asynchronously to improve AI model performance and ensure safety.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to maintain consistency and relevance in datasets.

Qualifications

Must-Have

PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.

Native or near-native fluency in Russian and business-level written English.

Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.

Sound judgment around scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

Preferred

Based in Eastern Europe or regions where Russian is widely spoken.

Expertise in radiological and nuclear coverage from a chemistry background.

Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield like organic or inorganic synthesis.

Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling.

Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
