This role will serve as the designated Compliance Officer for Payoneer Mexico. The Compliance Officer also serves as Payoneer Mexico’s local Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and point of contact with Mexico’s regulatory authorities, responsible for developing, implementing, administering, and maintaining all aspects of the AML/CFT Compliance Program in alignment with Mexico’s laws and regulations, internal policies and procedures, and supervisory expectations. The Compliance Officer must be fully knowledgeable of Mexico’s AML/CFT regime and best practices applicable to electronic payment institutions and payment service providers. The Compliance Officer must hold a valid CNBV certification in PLD/FT (Prevención de Lavado de Dinero y Financiamiento al Terrorismo) and will be expected to meet CBNV approval requirements as the designated Compliance Officer of Payoneer Mexico. The role combines hands-on regulatory knowledge with the ability to partner closely with global Compliance, Legal, Risk, Banking, and Product teams to embed compliance requirements into the local business.

Serve as the designated Mexico Compliance Officer of record and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Payoneer Mexico, fulfilling all statutory obligations attached to that role, including any formal registration or notification requirements.

Act as primary compliance liaison to Mexican authorities, law enforcement, and regulators including CNBV; coordinate relevant regulatory exams, information requests, and remediation.

Oversee end-to-end suspicious and unusual activity reporting processes, escalating and filing reports to Mexico’s national financial intelligence unit, Unidad de Inteligencia Financiera (UIF) as required (e.g., avisos, reportes de operaciones relevantes, reportes de operaciones inusuales, internas preocupantes, and 24-hour reports as applicable).

Maintain and refresh compliance policies, procedures, standards, and controls to fulfill compliance requirements for an IFPE, ensuring they reflect current regulatory expectations and Payoneer's global standards, as well as related identification, reporting and record retention regulations.

Support transaction monitoring and investigations workstreams, ensuring adherence to defined policies, procedures, and industry standard best practices.

Facilitate and collaborate with applicable stakeholders on the annual AML and Sanctions Risk Assessments, with respect to regulated activity in Mexico.

Prepare and present periodic compliance reports and information for the Payoneer Mexico Board of Directors.

Oversee local Sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) and Negative News screening decisions against Mexico lists, and coordinate with Payoneer’s Global Head of Sanctions and Screening as appropriate on relevant list management and system tuning.

Assist with local Mexico regulatory examinations and internal/external independent reviews or audits of the AML program.

Oversee responses to subpoenas or other document requests from Mexico law enforcement or regulatory bodies as applicable.

Assist and advise Regional Head of Compliance and other members of Senior Compliance Management of emerging risks, new or amended laws, regulations, or agency guidance and recommend local Mexico compliance program improvements or enhancements.

Prepare and review management information (KPIs/KRIs, training, issues and incidents, reporting statistics) for senior compliance leadership, local management, and periodic governance reporting, with respect to regulated activities in Mexico.

Provide ongoing education and oversight on emerging AML/CFT risks arising from Payoneer’s customers, products, services, and partners in Mexico.

Act as the bridge between Payoneer Mexico's local operations and Payoneer's global compliance, legal, and risk functions, ensuring local regulatory requirements are reflected in global systems, policies, and controls.

Partner cross-functionally with Product, Data, Operations, and Global Compliance to embed local controls into new features and markets and to maintain alignment with Payoneer’s global standards.

Future opportunity to build and lead local AML team and/or manage external resources as needed; promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

7–10 years of progressive compliance and AML/CFT experience within a bank, fintech, IFPE, casa de cambio, or another entity regulated by the CNBV, Banco de México, and/or subject to AML regulation in Mexico. Cross‑border payments experience is strongly preferred.

Prior experience serving as a designated Compliance Officer, Oficial de Cumplimiento, or similar registered/statutory compliance role before the CNBV is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience filing Unusual Activity Reports and managing interactions with local Mexico regulators authorities.

Experience with higher‑risk customer types, complex transactional flows, and typologies relevant to global cross-border payments.

Fluent Spanish and strong professional English required for coordination with global compliance, legal, and leadership teams.

Bachelor’s degree; professional certification preferred (e.g., CAMS or equivalent AML certification).
