What the posting says

Grounded in a talent-centric mindset, Maker Lab is a marketing agency designed to build decentralised technology-led agency teams, rooted in collaboration with clients from the ground up. Maker Lab’s cross-functional teams of multidisciplinary specialists are embedded into client teams across digital marketing competencies — from measurement & analytics to content production.

Role Summary:

Manage research and insights for Consumer Apps & Gen AI in Southeast Asia — running product testing and competitive benchmarking in Indonesia, and turning findings into clear, actionable recommendations for the marketing team.

As part of the application process, you'll be asked to share a portfolio of past work demonstrating your research rigour and analytical depth.

Role:

Own end-to-end product research, teardowns and competitive benchmarking of Consumer Apps and Gen AI features against competitors across Southeast Asia

Design and run structured market research and product testing in Indonesia, evaluating product readiness, performance and localisation quality

Track competitor product launches and feature rollouts, keeping the team informed on what's available in the market and where the gaps are

Partner closely with research and analytics agencies to turn qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, actionable recommendations for the team

Organise scattered product feedback into structured, easily shareable insights, using light coding/vibe-coding approaches to speed this up

Keep pace with a fast-moving product cadence, with new launches shipping roughly every two weeks

Build light workflow automation to streamline data collection and reporting, where useful

You:

3-4 years of experience in market research, consumer insights or product marketing, ideally within a tech company or an agency working with tech clients

Very detail-oriented, with a strong track record of accurate, error-free work and rigorous attention to edge cases

A basic understanding of marketing research principles and methodologies, and familiarity with market research tools and software.

Strong presentation skills and report writing abilities.

Strong grounding in both qualitative and quantitative research methods

Comfortable using basic coding, low-code or no-code tools to organise data and streamline workflows

Experienced in using everyday AI tools to construct and refine prompts, knowing when AI output needs human review, and following company AI-usage and data-privacy policies.

Experience with social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Meltwater, Talkwalker, or similar platforms) to monitor digital conversation volumes, sentiment shifts, and Share of Voice (SOV) across Southeast Asian markets.

Excellent written and spoken English, plus fluency in Bahasa Indonesia

Please note: due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted with a follow-up introduction email. If you do not receive an email from Maker Lab, your application has been unsuccessful this time around. Look out for future roles!
