What the posting says

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

The Data team at Figma partners directly with product and engineering to uncover insights, build scalable data systems, and bring a data lens to business problems critical to Figma's growth. As an intern on our team, you'll work on technical challenges that have real impact on our product and business, and we're looking for interns with strong foundations in coding and statistics — or data systems — who are clear communicators with both technical and non-technical audiences.

This internship will be based out of our San Francisco or New York Hub.

What you'll do at Figma:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn business questions into data problems

Evaluate experiments and surface metrics that guide product decisions

Build models to understand user behavior and predict growth

Design data pipelines and tools that make product data more scalable and accessible

Focus areas may include analytics, experimentation, or infrastructure - based on your strengths and interests

Some projects you could work on:

Improve experimentation accuracy and velocity through new testing methodologies

Investigate user behavior and recommend product improvements

Build internal data infrastructure and models that support cross-functional teams

Explore growth opportunities through KPI research and funnel analysis

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

Experience with Python (or similar scripting language) and SQL

Solid understanding of statistical methods or data systems

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Familiarity with data infrastructure concepts or large-scale data pipelines

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Pay Transparency Disclosure

This internship role is based in either Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, and has the hourly base pay rate stated below. Figma also offers interns a housing stipend and travel reimbursement. Figma’s compensation and benefits are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
