We are seeking a motivated, driven, and analytical Business Development Director to lead the pursuit of new business opportunities within the Government strategic and commercial end-user sectors. This role is responsible for expanding market presence across key accounts and building strategic partnerships that drive growth. Leveraging experience in space operations, satellite communications, and ground infrastructure, the Director will lead capture efforts and close deals in close collaboration with engineering, contracts, operations, supply chain, proposals, and executive leadership. Reporting to the Vice President of Antenna Technologies for BD/Sales, this role works with senior leadership to develop and execute winning business development strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
Drive bookings and revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing innovative sales strategies, and closing deals to meet targets with a focus on identified strategic accounts.
Stay informed of emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and market growth opportunities.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnership, alliances, and joint ventures to expand the company’s market reach and enhance its product offerings.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including engineering, sales, marketing, product development, contracts, finance and program management to ensure alignment of objectives and synergy in all business development efforts.
Assess risks associated with new business opportunities and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s interests and financial well-being.
Engage with key stakeholders including executives, board members, investors, and industry partners to communicate business development initiatives, progress, and outcomes.
Capture Management: drive the preparation, generation, delivery and negotiation of key proposals for identified strategic accounts to include investment business case, win strategy, pursue, bid and submit decisions.
Manage multiple key accounts simultaneously and maintain relevant data, contacts and information using Salesforce.
Monitor market trends and customer feedback to inform product and sales strategies
Contribute to the creation of marketing collateral and sales enablement tools
Share competitive insights with Sales Intelligence and Product teams
Recommend new market approaches to enhance growth and profitability
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
An overwhelming desire to win!
Executive presence and ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Deep understanding of ground assets supporting SATCOM and related mission needs. Strong connectivity to SATCOM, Radar, EW, COMINT/SIGINT and other user communities.
Proven experience in account management and customer engagement
A U.S. Citizenship (required); EAD work permit, visa sponsorship, and permanent residence will not be considered.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
Proven success in winning U.S. Government and Commercial contracts.
Experience leading large pursuits through identification, qualification, and capture phases.
Domain expertise in space operations, satellite communications, and ground infrastructure.
Ability to stand for long periods of time to support periodic tradeshows or events.
Willingness to travel 30%–50% or as needed to be successful.
Willingness to put in the time required on nights and weekends when necessary to win.

A strong business acumen with a solid understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, US Government budget process and competitive landscape.
Exceptional negotiation, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
Ability to translate market and customer information into written, actionable plans with a clear ROI AND communicate effectively to executive management for decision.
Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting/tracking tools such as Salesforce.
Exceptional knowledge of and ability to implement complex capture process such as “Shipley” or similar structures.
Preferred job requirements
Master’s degree in business or marketing
10+ years or equivalent of business development and/or sales experience
Active Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
