What the posting says

Why voize? Because we’re more than just a job!

At voize, we believe the greatest gift to frontline workers is time - time to care, connect, and be present. Today, that time is lost to busywork and complex systems that pull them away from what matters most: people.

Our vision is to change that by building AI companions that seamlessly take over digital workflows. We don’t replace humans with technology - we amplify their impact.

Our mission is backed with a $50M Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with support from HV Capital, Y Combinator and other leading VCs. Today, 2,000+ facilities trust voize, and over 200,000 users rely on our AI companion to ease their daily workload.

As a dynamic team, we combine first-in-class technology with meaningful social impact. And now, we’re looking for you to join us on this mission!

Your Mission

As our first Legal Counsel you own voize's legal function and report directly to the COO. You make legal fast and scalable across commercial, employment and corporate law, so Sales, People and Finance can move quickly while we protect what matters as we grow into new markets.

For this role, you need to be strategic and hands-on at the same time. You set the standards for our legal function and become a trusted partner to our management team but yet work closely with the teams on their day-to-day challenges. If you love getting your hands dirty, building from scratch, and having wide impact across the entire organization, this job is for you.

Your Daily Business - No two days are alike

Build voize’s legal function from scratch and set the standard for a fast moving and modern approach to risk management

Build playbooks, automations approval rules and self-serve flows, such as NDAs, so the team can move fast without waiting for legal

Draft, negotiate and approve customer and partner contracts across Germany, Europe, and the US

Advise on employment law, from contracts and policies to terminations and settlements, across our markets

Lead the legal side of financing rounds, equity plans, new entities and board matters

Manage external counsel and budgets, and bring recurring work in-house

Your Skillset - What you bring to the table

A law degree with German-law competence (Volljurist) or an international equivalent

7+ years in tech or SaaS commercial law, at least 2 of them in-house

Hands-on experience negotiating liability, IP and termination terms with international customers, plus working knowledge of German employment and US corporate law

A pragmatic, commercial mindset: you decide fast, give clear recommendations and are comfortable managing risk instead of avoiding it

Excitement for AI legal tools and for building scalable processes rather than acting as a gatekeeper

Fluent German and English and a short, clear communication style

Exposure to US, UK or French law is a plus

Growing together - what you can expect at voize

We are a fast-growing startup, that means you will tackle challenges, grow quickly, and make a real impact, giving frontline workers more time for people

Become a co-creator of our success with stock options

We foster an open, collaborative culture with regular team events, whether you work from our Berlin office or remotely across Germany

Generous perks: 30 vacation days plus your birthday off, Germany Transport Ticket, Urban Sports Club, regular company off-sites, and access to learning platforms such as Blinkist and Audible, plus free language courses

You decide when you work best, that means flexible working hours and a good hybrid set-up.

Ready to talk? Apply now!

We look forward to your application and can’t wait to meet you - no matter who you are or what background you have!
