Role summary

The Canadian-based Front-End Lead owns the implementation quality of the member-facing web experience for the credit union. You translate the UX vision and Content Management System (CMS) architecture into a high-performing, accessible, and reusable front-end experience. You work closely with the UX Lead and CMS Technical Lead and own the component system that connects design to the selected CMS. You are a senior, hands-on engineer who can lead technically while still building production code.

Key responsibilities

Experience with Central1 Forge Digital Banking Experience, and particularly their public website solution.

Lead front-end engineering for the new public websites for financial institutions (credit unions, in particular).

Build reusable, CMS-driven components and page templates.

Work closely with UX to translate the design system into a robust component library.

Integrate front-end components with CMS APIs and structured content.

Develop responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile.

Ensure WCAG accessibility compliance.

Optimize Core Web Vitals, page performance, SEO and rendering.

Implement analytics, tagging and consent-management requirements.

Integrate front-end journeys with digital banking, account-opening and other CU platforms.

Establish front-end architecture, coding standards and development practices.

Support headless or composable architectures where selected.

Conduct code reviews and mentor other developers.

Work with QA on automated and manual testing.

Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and environment management.

Support migration testing, launch, and stabilization.

Help create reusable AEQ components and accelerators that can reduce time and cost across future CU website migrations.

Ideal background

10+ years in modern front-end development.

Strong React and TypeScript experience; Next.js experience highly desirable.

Experience building enterprise-scale responsive websites.

Experience integrating with CMS platforms via REST/GraphQL.

Strong component architecture/design-system experience.

Excellent HTML/CSS/JavaScript fundamentals.

Strong accessibility expertise.

Understanding of SEO, performance optimization, and analytics.

Experience with enterprise security and regulated environments.

Financial-services experience preferred.

Experience with one or more of AEM, Sitecore, Kentico, Drupal, Sanity, dotCMS, Umbraco, or similar CMS platforms.

Compensation: $80/h-$100/h depending on skill set and expertise.
