What the posting says

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

THE ROLE

Join the Snowflake Finance team and help scale our global finance and accounting operations as we continue to grow. We are seeking a strong GL Accounting Manager to support our global corporate accounting team.

This is a highly visible, hands-on individual contributor role for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will combine strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset to own critical areas of accounting operations, while supporting Snowflake’s global intercompany framework.

You will take end-to-end ownership of key close workstreams, evaluate and operationalize complex and non-routine transactions, and partner cross-functionally to solve accounting and operational challenges. You will also help improve existing processes and use automation and AI-driven products to reduce repetitive and manual work to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.

This role is based in Dublin, CA or Menlo Park, CA. We use a hybrid work model, with three days in the office per week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own month-end and quarter-end close procedures for assigned accounting areas, ensuring high-integrity financial reporting through journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and insightful variance analysis.

Evaluate and operationalize complex, non-routine, and bespoke transactions, applying sound judgment to develop well-supported accounting conclusions and translate them into scalable accounting processes.

Partner closely with Strategic Finance, Engineering, Product, GTM, Revenue Accounting and Technical Accounting on new product offerings, financial analysis and close activities, proactively identifying and resolving accounting implications

Manage intercompany activities across legal entities in accordance with Snowflake’s intercompany agreements

Partner with Legal, Tax, Treasury, and Statutory Reporting to ensure new intercompany initiatives and projects are executed in full compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Leverage AI-powered financial tools to implement automated workflows for accounting operations and intercompany activities

Maintain accounting policies, process documentation, and SOX-compliant internal controls, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and audit readiness.

Support additional assignments and ad hoc projects as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an active CPA license is highly preferred.

7+ years of progressive experience in intercompany accounting, cost accounting, and/or public accounting.

Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX internal control requirements.

Experience using ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle Fusion.

Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with using SQL for data analysis is a plus.

Experience adopting AI-driven products to automate or optimize manual accounting processes.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts for both financial and non-financial audiences.

A high level of ownership, attention to detail, initiative, and adaptability, with a solution-oriented mindset and a passion for building scalable processes in a fast-paced environment.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
