Growth Marketing Senior Specialist (US & Emerging Markets)
About the role
As the Growth Marketing Senior Specialist, you will drive the marketing side of Nu Global's growth-hacking strategy, primarily across LatAm and Europe (with an eye toward extending playbooks to the US as they prove out), turning community and cultural insight into content, channel activation, and outreach that accelerates acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and referral. This role exists to help Nu grow where we want to grow through organic and unconventional ways — building real engagement, community trust, and grassroots momentum through a test-and-learn approach rather than running ads.
You will work as the marketing counterpart to a Growth Product Manager. You own community strategy, native content, and channel activation, particularly in social and other hard-to-track spaces where the audience already lives.
This role also works closely with Business Analytics. Because most of the channels you'll operate in have incomplete or no native attribution, contributing to credible proxy measurement — in close partnership with your Growth PM and Business Analytics — is as core to this job as the content and community work itself.
You'll be responsible for
Build and scale community-led growth channels: find, seed, and grow presence inside WhatsApp/Telegram groups, Facebook groups, Reddit threads, and diaspora forums where the audience already congregates, without depending on paid or fully trackable channels.
Develop culturally fluent community content and voice: write and produce content that reads as native to each community (a Reddit post, a WhatsApp broadcast, a group meme) rather than as an ad, calibrated to the trust dynamics of expat and global professional audiences across LatAm and EU geographies.
Propose measurement approaches for hard-to-track channels: contribute proxy metrics, promo codes, and mixed-method measurement ideas in partnership with Business Analytics and the Growth PM, so channel impact can be argued with evidence, not anecdote.
Run experimentation in a test-and-learn model, in lockstep with the Growth PM: translate community insight into testable hypotheses and campaign structures, working the same backlog and review cadence as the product side rather than a parallel one.
Operate no-code/low-code growth tooling: build and maintain automation for community outreach and content distribution that scales without heavy engineering dependency.
Scout and pilot emerging channels: track and test next-wave channels (GEO/generative-engine optimization, new community platforms) before they become mainstream growth levers.
Bring a strong marketing point of view: partner with the Growth PM to shape the growth thesis for your workstream, and represent the marketing perspective clearly to product, data, and country stakeholders.
We are looking for a person who
Has solid experience in growth marketing, community marketing, or lifecycle marketing, including direct ownership of closed-community or grassroots acquisition (private groups, forums, and other low-visibility community channels) in consumer, fintech, or marketplace businesses.
Demonstrated track record contributing to attribution workarounds for channels with incomplete or no native tracking. This is a hands-on execution role.
Is comfortable operating without clean data. Makes calls with proxy evidence and mixed-method reasoning, and runs a disciplined test-and-learn cadence rather than waiting for perfect attribution.
Cultural fluency across LatAm and/or EU audiences, particularly expat, diaspora, and global-professional segments. Prior experience with global expansion companies or community-led growth companies is a differentiator.
Strong influence skills; able to represent the marketing point of view to Product and Analytics stakeholders, and make the case for channel and content calls as a senior individual contributor.
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a strong advantage. Nice to have: French, German, or Italian
Strategic Acumen: Links the growth-hacking workstream's near-term channel bets to Nu Global's broader expansion strategy, and helps the Growth PM and stakeholders see that connection too.
Analytical Ability: Analyzes incomplete, unstructured channel data with little oversight; turns it into recommendations that hold up when someone in Business Analytics pushes back.
Stakeholder Relationship & Management: Builds and sustains trust with Product, Business Analytics, and country teams independently; manages conflicting priorities between marketing's channel bets and product's roadmap without escalating every time.
Marketing Knowledge & Product Influence: Synthesizes community and cultural insight into marketing objectives, and advocates for product changes where the community signal warrants it.
Customer Marketing: Acts as a primary advocate for community trust dynamics in cross-functional discussions; translates research and behavioral signal into concrete channel and content decisions.
AI Fluency: Builds or guides no-code/low-code AI automation for growth tooling; evaluates AI initiatives on ROI, effort, and risk rather than adopting tools for their own sake.
