About Ramp

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.

The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.

We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.

The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.

If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Business Systems Engineer to own and evolve Ramp’s Quote-to-Cash systems. You’ll build the Salesforce CPQ, contract, and Billing/Core integrations that turn complex commercial agreements into accurate, supportable customer outcomes from quote creation and approvals through order forms, provisioning, billing, renewals, and amendments.

This role sits in Growth Engineering’s Business Systems Engineering team and partners closely with Deal Desk, Legal, Finance, Billing Engineering, Product, and GTM teams. You’ll combine hands-on Salesforce engineering with systems design and strong commercial judgment to make high-stakes revenue workflows reliable, scalable, and easier for teams to use.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the Salesforce Platform

Design and operate reliable integrations between Salesforce CPQ, Ironclad, Billing/Core, and adjacent business systems. Own data contracts, idempotency, error handling, reconciliation, and safe lifecycle changes for quotes, contracts, and subscriptions.

Design, develop, and maintain solutions on iPaaS (Homegrown, Workato, Clay, etc)

Drive decisions on architecture patterns, tool usage, and designs required for the solution to scale both in terms of speed and scale.

Write and communicate technical specifications, including architecture diagrams, data model diagrams, process flows, and sequence diagrams.

Own the data integrity and data assumptions in your focused area and contribute continually.

Work closely with the rest of the team on code reviews, on-call, build issues, and ideation.

What You’ll Need

7+ years working with the Salesforce platform

5+ years of experience with Systems Architecture and Integrations

Strong experience with Apex and triggers.

Working knowledge and experience on other programming languages like Python.

Strong knowledge of developing Lightning Web Components

Strong experience of APIs and integrations with Salesforce

Strong knowledge and working experience of synchronous/asynchronous methods, streaming API, and publish/subscribe design patterns and architectural patterns.

Familiarity with broader GTM stack beyond Salesforce ( Gong, Leandata, CPQ, Billing Systems)

Strong and working knowledge of data pipelines.

Solid understanding or implementation knowledge of CI/CD processes.

Understanding Salesforce governance limits and code coverage.

Follow unit-testing best practices and be capable of coding for positive/negative scenarios.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully and evaluating their output.

Deep experience building and maintaining Salesforce applications with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and asynchronous processing.

Experience with CPQ, pricing, contract lifecycle management, billing, subscriptions, or another Quote-to-Cash domain.

Strong API and integration-design skills, including reliable handling of retries, duplicate events, partial failures, and data reconciliation.

Ability to translate complex commercial requirements into simple, durable system behavior in partnership with non-engineering teams.
