About the Team
Nubank's Finance organization is structured into functional areas that together safeguard financial stability, compliance and strategic decision-making. Most core finance functions operate under a dual reporting structure — reporting directly into the global Finance team, with a dotted line to the business they support — which keeps us close to the operation while holding a consistent global standard.
Within Finance, FP&A owns budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, and acts as the analytical partner behind the company's biggest decisions. The team drives profitable growth by improving visibility, forecasting quality, consolidation and analysis of results and key metrics, translating them into insights and recommended actions for senior management. It also defines the performance metrics that create accountability and ownership across FP&A and the business units — tracking them consistently to measure progress, monitor KPIs and drive cost optimization.
About the Role
The Head of Credit Card FP&A leads financial planning and analysis for Nubank's Credit Card portfolio across all markets, including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, the United States, and beyond. You will own the top-line net revenue forecast for the product, lead a team of approximately 8–10 finance professionals, and act as the principal finance partner to credit card leadership and a senior group of General Managers.
This is a builder's role rather than a caretaker's. Within the first year, you will change how Nubank forecasts this business, rebuild the underlying models to reflect how a credit card portfolio actually behaves, partner with business leaders, Investor Relations, Risk Management, and operational support functions to explain changes in the trajectory of the business, and assist leaders across the company in decision-making. Doing that credibly requires deep, hands-on expertise in credit card economics, particularly in our largest market, Brazil.
You’ll be Responsible for
Forecast, analyze, and report on the net revenue of the credit card business — the number, the drivers behind it, and the position the business takes on it with Finance leadership and the Management Team;
Set the direction for how this business is forecast: define the cadence, the modeling standards, and the analytical framework the team works to, and bring them in line with industry best practice;
Be the authority on credit card financial drivers across Finance and the business — the person leadership turns to when the portfolio's economics are in question;
Shape business decisions rather than report on them: bring the Finance perspective into growth, pricing, and portfolio decisions early enough to change them, and hold a position when the analysis calls for it;
Own the partnership with loss forecasting, so that revenue and credit views reconcile into a single, defensible view of the product's economics;
Build and lead the team: set the talent bar, develop the bench, and create a succession pipeline;
Own how this business is explained upward — to Finance leadership, to the Management Team, and in support of budget cycles, executive reviews, and company earnings — setting the standard for clarity and holding the team to it;
Decide where the team's capacity goes: prioritize between recurring cycles, improvement work, and demands from across the organization, and be accountable for the trade-offs.
Raise the team's leverage through AI and automation: set the ambition for how much of the recurring work can be automated, and reinvest the capacity released into deeper analysis and business partnering;
This is a highly visible role that includes frequent interaction with senior management and other key internal stakeholders. A successful candidate will have the ability to effectively interact and influence across a matrixed organizational structure and closely partner with teams across finance, engineering, and the business.
What We're Looking For Someone Who Has
Required
Professional experience & education
Deep subject-matter expertise in credit cards in Brazil. Candidates must have worked at a bank, issuer, retail finance company, or fintech that originates and manages its own credit card portfolio.
Experience within business analysis, credit, strategic finance, or financial planning and analysis in consumer financial services.
Experience leading teams responsible for modeling and forecasting the financial outcomes of credit products.
Strong command of credit card unit economics and marginal decision-making, including net interest income and funding cost, interchange, fee income, revolving behavior, cohort and vintage analysis, and provisioning.
Experience building and improving forecasting models, not only operating them.
Fluent English.
Competences & attributes
Superior analytical rigor, moving easily between the portfolio P&L and the drivers underneath it, and challenging modeling assumptions on substance;
Turns analysis into recommendations that senior leaders act on, and influences the long-term direction of the portfolio;
Builds planning processes and performance metrics that link to strategy and create real accountability;
Develops people: coaches, has the difficult conversations, and builds a succession pipeline;
Communicates with authority to senior executives — collaborative and diplomatic, but decisive when it matters;
Delivers complex, cross-functional change while the recurring cycle keeps running, and prioritizes between the two.
