Role Description

The Senior HRIS Developer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, and ongoing support of the organizations Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). This role partners closely with HR, Payroll, Technology, and Security teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient HR technology solutions that support business operations and compliance requirements across regions.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Development & Configuration

Lead system upgrades, patches, and new module implementations

Ensure data integrity, system performance, availability, and application-level security controls

Integration & Data Management

Develop and maintain integrations between HRIS and payroll, finance, and third-party systems

Manage data migrations, validations, reconciliations, and ongoing data quality

Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business and compliance needs

Technology & System Security (Product Environment)

Design and build HRIS applications to operate within a secure technology and hosting environment (e.g. cloud or hosted platforms used for the system being developed)

Work closely with platform, cloud, or product security teams to ensure the system environment includes:

Firewall protection at all network ingress and egress points

Secure network architecture for system integrations and data flows

Endpoint protection controls such as anti-malware and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) where applicable to the system environment

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration while data is in use, in motion, and at rest

Ensure the HRIS application complies with platform-level security controls and secure coding standards

Support penetration testing and vulnerability scanning activities conducted for the system by:

Preparing environments

Responding to findings

Implementing and validating remediation for application-level vulnerabilities

Maintain documentation related to system security design, controls, and remediation activities

Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Act as a subject matter expert for HR systems and HR technology processes

Provide guidance and mentoring to junior HRIS developers or analysts

Testing, Support & Governance

Lead system testing activities, including unit testing, UAT, and deployment

Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide advanced production support

Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal governance standards

Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and optimize HR processes

Recommend best practices and emerging HR technology solutions

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in HRIS development or administration

Strong experience with HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or similar)

Hands-on experience with system integrations, APIs, reporting tools, and data management
