About the Role
Nuro is looking for a Immigration & Global Mobility Specialist to join our People Operations team. This is a newly created role focused on supporting a growing immigration program while expanding our data integrity and audit capabilities. You will own Nuro's immigration program end-to-end while working with our immigration vendor to manage a full caseload and serving as the dedicated in-house subject matter expert for employees, recruiters, and managers. You will also build out our audit practices as we scale, bringing the documentation, workflows, and operational rigor and rhythm. This is a high-impact role that will set a strong foundation for both team and company growth.
About the Work
Own end-to-end immigration case management: H-1B, STEM OPT, TN, O-1, and PERM cases.
Manage all internal immigration coordination: employee communications, manager outreach, document collection, timeline management, and escalations.
Partner with our external immigration counsel/vendor who handles case processing; you own everything on the Nuro side.
Monitor compliance deadlines and maintain case tracking systems.
Coordinate with recruiters and HRBPs on new hire visa requirements and sponsorship decisions.
Support international expansion efforts, including obtaining visas and work permits abroad, as global mobility needs grow.
Conduct regular data audits across People systems to ensure accuracy and compliance readiness.
Support compliance audits by pulling, validating, and packaging workforce data as needed.
Maintain audit-ready documentation for immigration compliance, I-9 verification, and visa records.
Build out and formalize operational workflows, SOPs, and process documentation to create repeatable, scalable procedures across People Ops.
Leverage AI tools to streamline documentation, tracking, and repetitive data tasks.
About You
3+ years in People Operations, HR analytics, or immigration/global mobility coordination
Direct experience with U.S. immigration required for case types (H-1B, OPT/STEM OPT, TN, O-1, PERM)
Strong analytical skills with experience building reports and dashboards
Exceptional attention to detail, especially with compliance deadlines and data accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills for employee-facing immigration support
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
