What the posting says

Role Title: Journalist/Writer

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

micro1 is engaging Journalist/Writers to participate in a project evaluating advanced AI-generated writing. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

Assess multiple AI-generated responses to writing prompts, comparing their clarity, tone, helpfulness, and fidelity to the given instructions.

Assign analytical quality scores to each response and provide concise, well-reasoned written rationales explaining your decisions.

Identify writing that reads persuasively but contains inaccuracies, lacks support, or deviates from the intended brief.

Detect factual errors, logical inconsistencies, and issues of internal coherence in written content.

Document your evaluations thoroughly using digital content review platforms and project-provided tools.

Collaborate asynchronously with project managers and reviewers to maintain evaluation standards and consistency.

Work independently to deliver assigned evaluations within project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Native or near-native written fluency in English, with a university degree completed at an institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.

Professional background as a journalist, reporter, editor, copy editor, sub-editor, fact-checker, ghostwriter, or published author.

Proven expertise in technical writing, content evaluation, critical analysis, and written communication.

Demonstrated experience editing or fact-checking others’ work against a style guide or editorial standards.

Keen attention to detail and strong ability to judge writing for accuracy, clarity, and audience suitability.

Comfort working independently and delivering high-quality assessments remotely.

Experience with annotation, AI model evaluation, or digital content review platforms is a plus but not mandatory.
