Tasks

Review content generated by machine translation and post-edit it according to the specified guidelines, making sure it’s correct and comprehensible within the specific domain and subject area.

Requirements

Must have:

Openness to AI-ruled workflows: Interest in reviewing translations generated using machine translation and large language model technologies

Reliability/Attention to detail: thoroughly reading and following guidelines for different workflows to ensure the right quality

Linguistic expertise: proficient in English (at least C1), familiar with the intricacies of your native language - Please apply only if you are a native speaker of German (Germany) or French (France)

Subject matter expertise: mechanical engineering / robotics – students and early-career professionals are welcome to reply!

Flexibility/Versatility: comfortable adapting to new technologies, tools, and ways of working, and providing constructive feedback to help improve processes and workflows

Operating system: Windows (if you are a Mac user, please confirm if you own a software that allows you to run a genuine Windows OS side-by-side with macOS)

Nice to have:

CAT tools knowledge: general or specific CAT tool knowledge is a plus, but we don't expect applicants to know them

MT experience: Prior knowledge about machine translation (MTPE) workflows is helpful but not a must. Openness to learn new technologies and workflows is more important.

Benefits

We will initially assign you to one customer and a specific domain where your expertise is most relevant. As we build experience working together, reviewers who consistently deliver high-quality results may be invited to support additional customers and new subject areas.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short test to assess their linguistic skills. The test will take between 30 minutes to 1 hour and will be carried out in memoQ CAT tool or memoQWeb (online version; no need to install the desktop version for the test project).

In your application, please write a few sentences – no more than a paragraph – on why you think you are right for this position.

This is a freelance position and there is no interview step.
