You will:
Enable the experts: Equip specialist diagnostic technicians with knowledge and resources
Evolve the workshop: Facilitate technical change management in the workshops by planning and deploying new technologies, methodologies, and resources
Unlock service capabilities: Develop service methods, tools, and technical resources such as theory of operations
Grow workshop competencies: Contribute to advanced technical training curriculums
Advance Waymo Driver development: Enable engineering testing and development with consultation and hands on support
Craft next gen technology: Execute prototype builds and exploratory vehicle modifications
You have:
5+ years experience in an advanced automotive technician or automotive engineering role
Mastery of automotive diagnostic strategies and tools covering mechanical, electrical, and networking (e.g. CAN)
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and executives
Analytical skills to identify developmental opportunities and communicate them effectively
Experience servicing electric or hybrid vehicles (high voltage qualification preferred)
We prefer:
Experience building or servicing autonomous vehicles or technology
Experience designing, improving, and deploying operational processes using change management best practices
Experience administering technical training
Experience with technical writing and technical documentation
Experience viewing or creating 2D or 3D CAD models
Fabrication experience (cutting, welding, mill, lathe)
Travel:
Ability to travel domestically or internationally on short notice up to 20% of the time
The expected base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
