What the posting says

Quandela is a global leader in quantum computing, designing, building, and delivering cutting-edge quantum solutions for research and industry. Its offerings include the most energy-efficient quantum computers for data centers, full-stack quantum computing solutions accessible via the cloud, and algorithm access services for academic and industrial customers. Following a pragmatic, step-by-step roadmap, Quandela has been deploying industrial-grade systems since 2023 while developing future generations of fault-tolerant quantum computers capable of scaling through the integration of thousands of photonic components. Quandela is committed to making quantum computing accessible to all in order to address the most complex industrial and societal challenges.

Join Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation 🚀

As our manufacturing moves from R&D and low-volume production toward structured, scalable industrial output, we're looking for a hands-on Lean engineer who combines strong analytical skills with a pragmatic shop-floor mindset. You'll adapt Lean intelligently to a complex high-tech environment (long cycle times, expensive equipment, cleanroom and yield constraints) and help us manufacture faster, more reliably and at greater scale, without compromising quality or innovation.

Your Key Resonsabilities

Define and deploy Lean principles across our semiconductor, photonic and system manufacturing, adapting them intelligently to a complex, low-volume/high-mix environment

Map end-to-end flows with Value Stream Mapping, define current and future states, and build improvement roadmaps based on real constraints

Analyze cycle time at product, workshop and process-step level, separating processing, queue, waiting, transport and test times, and lead actions to reduce lead time and WIP

Introduce pull-flow or controlled-WIP principles where relevant and improve flow between workshops and production stages

Identify bottlenecks, analyze equipment loading and capacity losses, and optimize sequencing around constrained equipment

Implement and improve OEE monitoring on critical equipment, analyze availability, performance and quality losses, and support preventive maintenance and TPM initiatives

Develop standardized work with Methods and Production to reduce variability between operators and runs

Build shop-floor and visual management systems (safety, quality, delivery, cost, WIP) with daily routines and escalation mechanisms

Lead structured problem solving (PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why, Ishikawa, Pareto, Kaizen) and build these capabilities within production teams

Deploy and sustain 5S, including in cleanroom environments, while respecting contamination-control and safety requirements

Work with Process Engineering and Quality to reduce scrap, rework and yield losses without compromising process robustness

Identify cost-reduction opportunities, build business cases for Lean projects and track actual savings

Embed Lean into new production lines, layouts and equipment investments, so scale-up doesn't replicate today's inefficiencies at a larger scale

Requirements

Engineering degree or Master's in Industrial, Manufacturing or Operations Engineering, or a related technical field

Minimum 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering or Continuous Improvement

Proven track record of improving manufacturing performance

Hands-on expertise in VSM, Standardized Work, 5S, OEE, and cycle-time and WIP reduction

Strong data-driven, analytical mindset

Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive change

Fluent French and professional English

Nice to have

Experience in semiconductors, photonics, cleanroom or wafer fab, industrial scale-up, SPC, or ERP/MES environments; Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification

Benefits

Competitive salary, flexible based on your experience

Profit-sharing & company savings plan

100% health coverage (Alan)

50% transport reimbursement or sustainable mobility bonus

Meal vouchers (Swile), Gymlib fitness support

Childcare assistance & referral bonuses (€1,000–€2,000)

What we offer:

A meaningful role with real ownership, from day one

A team eager to collaborate and grow with you

A hybrid work model (3 days/week onsite in Massy, 1 day in Paris, 1 to 2 days remotely)

Daily exposure to the entire quantum stack — from high-level APIs to low-level firmware, and everything in between.
