What the posting says

VALIS (Valis Insights) | Software Engineer, new product line | REMOTE (US, East Coast hours) | Full-time | $125k-$155k + equity

I'm Caleb, co-founder/CTO. VALIS builds data products for scrap metal recyclers. Our product images, weighs, and classifies scrap metal, and our platform turns that into actionable quality analytics to improve physical ops at plants across the US. Recycled metal takes a fraction of the energy of mined metal, and better data means more of it gets recovered.

We're hiring an engineer to build our next product line: a production tracking and analytics platform for recycling plants, extended from our existing product. We're a small team (<10 ppl). What you'd work on (ideate, build, deploy, own):

- Modeling a complex (and intellectually stimulating) physical process

- Agentic features that dig through production and quality data, surface trends, flag anomalies, and notify the right people

- Working directly with customers: regular calls with operators and plant managers, plus a few site visits a year

You should have 3+ YoE, strong data modeling fundamentals, and enjoy owning ambiguous problems end to end. We care more about how you think than what exactly you've used. Recycling, ERP/MES, or physical ops software experience is a plus.

Our stack: React/TypeScript, C#/.NET, PostgreSQL, AWS.

US work authorization required; no sponsorship.
