Job Title: Paid Search Associate (Remote)

About the Client: a performance marketing agency specializing in healthy, active, and lifestyle brands. The company helps businesses drive growth through data-driven marketing, audience insights, media strategy, creative content, and integrated digital solutions.

Overview: The Paid Search Associate is a hands-on execution and account health role supporting the Paid Search team. This position builds search campaigns quickly and accurately, keeps live accounts clean and on budget, and finds problems before they cost clients money. Unlike a pure QA role, the associate is expected to diagnose what is wrong and propose a specific fix, not just flag that something looks off. The associate works from documented processes, build templates, and briefs from senior team members. Recommended fixes are reviewed and approved by the Search Manager before changes that affect strategy, bidding, or budget allocation are made. This role is not responsible for leading client communication, setting campaign strategy, or owning client performance goals.

Responsibilities:

Build new Google Ads search and Performance Max campaigns from approved briefs and templates, including campaign settings, ad groups, keywords, match types, negatives, RSAs, assets, and location targeting

Use Google Ads Editor and bulk sheets to build and launch multi-location campaigns quickly (many of our clients operate dozens to hundreds of locations)

Platform focus is Google Ads exclusively

Apply naming conventions, UTMs, and conversion settings correctly on every build

Run scheduled audits of live accounts against a standard checklist: disapprovals, limited ads, broken URLs, missing assets, conversion tracking status, budget and bid strategy settings, and naming consistency

Review search term reports to identify irrelevant or wasted spend and propose negative keywords

Perform daily delivery checks using internal tools and directly in platform to spot anomalies such as sudden drops or spikes in spend, clicks, CPC, conversion volume, or conversion rate

Identify the likely cause of each anomaly (for example, a paused campaign, a tracking break, a policy issue, a budget cap, or an auction change) before escalating

For every issue identified, document what happened, the likely cause, the recommended fix, and the expected impact

Implement approved fixes and routine corrections (disapprovals, broken URLs, negatives, asset updates) within agreed guidelines

Escalate issues that affect strategy, bidding, or budget allocation to the Search Manager with a recommendation, not just a flag

Monitor campaign pacing to ensure budgets are spending appropriately relative to plan; flag under- or over-spend issues promptly

Verify landing pages, URLs, and destination functionality prior to and after launch

Issue Tracking & Communication

Clearly communicate errors, risks, and pacing concerns to senior team members

Track identified issues through resolution to ensure no gaps in execution

Build Performance Max and Demand Gen campaigns from approved briefs

Own recurring audits for an assigned set of accounts end to end

Implement a wider range of approved optimizations (bid strategy target adjustments, budget shifts within plan, ad copy testing) with less review

Help maintain and improve build templates, audit checklists, and anomaly thresholds

Support a higher volume of accounts once consistency and trust are established

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience building and managing campaigns in Google Ads

Proficiency with Google Ads Editor and bulk editing in spreadsheets

Working knowledge of keyword match types, negative keyword strategy, RSAs, assets, bid strategies, and location targeting

Understanding of conversion tracking, including Google Tag Manager, GA4, and offline conversion imports

Demonstrated ability to diagnose the cause of a performance change, not just notice it

Google Ads Search certification preferred

Strong attention to detail and comfort with process-driven, high-volume work

Ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy and to meet deadlines consistently

Clear written communication skills for internal coordination and issue write-ups

Familiarity with Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Microsoft Teams

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 9AM – 5PM Pacific Time Zone.

Setup: Remote
