Harbor is seeking a Part-Time Intern to provide work with our client on research and information initiatives. Harbor is the preeminent provider of expert services across strategy, legal technology, operations, and intelligence. Harbor seeks a currently enrolled or recently graduated student from an MLS/MLIS, Law or Juris Doctor program interested in learning about the field of legal research and information services. This paid intern will be provided onboarding and training prior to assignment to a Harbor client to work on their research and information initiatives. We provide continued support throughout your internship, with weekly meetings to touch base and identify any areas you need any extra guidance with.

The remote internship will last 15-17 weeks with an option to renew as mutually agreed upon by the intern and Harbor. The intern will be expected to work 15 hours/week between the hours of 9 am and 7 pm.

Responsibilities:

Conduct legal research, background factual investigations, and technology research in support of attorney requests, internal projects, and client service initiatives

Evaluate proprietary, government, and openly accessible information sources for alignment with existing Client collections and research projects

Draft research and content guides that support the discovery of information relevant to the Client’s practice teams and department staff

Curate and edit current awareness tools and email newsletters

Participate in remote meetings with team and other Client staff and attorneys

Utilize Microsoft enterprise technology effectively to support and enhance current Client department workflows

Qualifications:

You will be pursuing a degree in MLS/MLIS, Law or Juris Doctor.

Be a part of a Law Librarianship program

Have an interest in learning about the field of legal research and information services

Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Must be detail-oriented and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

Must be a currently enrolled or recently graduated student from an MLS/MLIS, Law or Juris Doctor program interested in learning about the field of legal research and information services

Able to complete an 17 week internship, starting on 2nd of September

The intern will be expected to work 15 hours/week between the hours of 9 am and 7 pm.

Have permanent US work authorization.
