About Ramp

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.

The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.

We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.

The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.

If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

About the Role

People Operations at Ramp creates an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. As Ramp grows globally, we’re building the systems and programs that help employees move, work, and thrive across borders.

In this role, you’ll own the infrastructure, compliance, and programs that let Ramp employ people anywhere in the world - building the policies and playbooks for each new country. You’ll own the individual visa and relocation cases as well as building the scalable processes, policies, and vendor partnerships behind them. You’ll work across Legal, Finance, Payroll, People, Recruiting, and external counsel to make complex requirements clear, compliant, and easy to navigate.

This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch role for someone who brings strong judgment, follows through, and consistently finds ways to simplify and improve how the work gets done.

What You'll Do

Global Infrastructure & Compliance

Build the operational playbook for launching and supporting employees in new countries, bringing together payroll, employment law, immigration, entity, and cultural considerations.

Act as the cross-functional owner connecting Legal, Finance, Payroll, People Partners, business leaders, and immigration counsel to turn global expansion needs into clear, executable plans.

Create scalable mechanisms for identifying, tracking, and managing global mobility and employment-compliance risks, including cross-border remote work, business travel, and international employment classification.

Own compliance for all countries in which Ramp operates, including handbooks, required training, and connecting the dots on things like job posting requirements and other state/local obligations.

Establish and continuously improve international business-travel guidance so employees can travel for Ramp with clarity and appropriate immigration support.

Immigration

Own and improve Ramp’s immigration program, including policies, workflows, vendor partnerships, and employee guidance.

Manage U.S., UK, and Canadian visa cases from offer stage through renewals and permanent residency in partnership with external council

Advise Recruiting and hiring leaders on visa eligibility and sponsorship options.

Serve as Ramp’s internal immigration expert, translating complex requirements into practical guidance.

Build repeatable frameworks to expand immigration support as Ramp enters new countries.

Look for opportunities to automate, standardize, or simplify the program—reducing manual work while preserving the judgment and flexibility required for complex cases.

Global Mobility and Relocation

Design and run a clear, scalable relocation program for employees and their families.

Manage end-to-end international relocation cases

Advise People Partners, recruiters, and business leaders on mobility-related questions with clear, practical guidance

Make complex immigration and mobility requirements accessible for employees navigating high-stakes processes

Expand this relocation process to new countries as we grow

What You Need

5+ years of experience across a sub-set of People Operations, global mobility, immigration, and/or compliance in a global context

Strong vendor management skills — you know how to get the most out of immigration counsel and relocation partners

Robust program-management skills, with experience scaling and improving existing processes as a company grows—creating clarity, strengthening handoffs, and building durable operating rhythms across teams.

Experience building processes from scratch at a scaling company

Autonomy and ownership: you take full accountability, follow through on commitments, and don't let things fall through the cracks

Genuine kindness and compassion: you care deeply about the people you support, especially when they're navigating high-stakes, high-stress situations

Exceptional attention to detail: you catch them before they happen

Outstanding communication skills: you can translate complex situations into plain language for employees, leaders, and their families

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, comfort with ambiguity, and a bias toward action balanced with sound judgment on compliance risk

Nice-to-Haves

Experience standing up immigration/mobility functions in additional countries beyond the US/UK/Canada (e.g., APAC, EU, LatAm)

Prior experience at a high-growth startup navigating rapid global expansion
