About Payoneer

Founded in 2005, Payoneer is the global financial platform that removes friction from doing business across borders, with a mission to connect the world’s underserved businesses to a rising global economy. We’re a community with over 2,500 colleagues all over the world, working to serve customers, and partners in over 190 countries and territories.

By taking the complexity out of the financial workflows–including everything from global payments and compliance to multi-currency and workforce management, to providing working capital and business intelligence–we give businesses the tools they need to work efficiently worldwide and grow with confidence.

About the Role

The Platform Enablement & Automation team owns configuration management across Payoneer's products and services, defining how they operate for different customers, partners, and markets. This scope spans pricing and fee structures, eligibility and limit policies, onboarding, and the business rules and operational controls that govern product behavior across regions.

The team functions as the rapid-delivery layer between a business requirement and a fully productized solution. When a business unit requires a new capability, a pricing change, or a configuration deployed at short notice, the team delivers it at production quality without waiting for the full product and engineering build cycle. To operate at scale, the team builds and owns its internal platform, and is progressively evolving into an AI-native, automation-first function.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor position focused on engineering delivery and technical ownership rather than people management. The successful candidate will serve as a core builder of the platform, working across the full technology stack, from user interface through backend services to data and deployment, and will provide the technical depth and redundancy that prevents the platform from depending on any single individual.

Working in close partnership with the business teams the platform serves, the successful candidate will translate their requirements directly into working software and help extend the platform outward as it grows to support strategic partners. The role also partners with the team's Director to shape the platform roadmap and deliver against it, in daily collaboration with R&D and Product in Glilot.

Hong Kong | Full Time | Hybrid

What you will do

Design, build, and maintain the internal platform across the full stack, comprising a modern front end (React, TypeScript), Node.js backend services, and both document and relational data layers.

Engage directly with the business teams the platform serves, capturing requirements firsthand and delivering solutions that eliminate manual, repetitive work.

Provide technical depth and redundancy across the platform to reduce dependency on any single individual or component.

Develop practical, end-to-end solutions, translating business requirements into a sound technical approach and a working implementation.

Leverage AI-assisted development to prototype, build, and iterate rapidly, converting concepts into production-ready software.

Build and extend the platform's AI-native and automation capabilities, including AI-assisted workflows, agents, and self-service, as the domain expands.

Manage version control, branching, and release processes across Sandbox, QA, and production environments, and own the associated deployments.

Contribute to the platform's external-facing layer as it is extended toward strategic partners.

Maintain code quality and long-term maintainability through sound documentation, standards, and engineering practices.

Who you are

Two to four years of hands-on software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of features and projects from concept through production.

A broad engineering foundation and the versatility to work across the full stack rather than within a single narrow specialization.

Proficiency with a modern JavaScript / TypeScript stack (React on the front end, Node.js on the back end), and the ability to become productive quickly in unfamiliar parts of a stack.

A working command of version control and release management (Git or Azure DevOps), including branching, merging, and multi-environment deployment.

Sound solution-design judgment: the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into a clear technical approach and execute it.

Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and a demonstrated ability to build efficiently and to a high standard with them.

The ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate their needs into working software.

A pragmatic, execution-oriented approach, with a bias toward shipping, iterating, and taking ownership from concept through production.

Nice to Have

Existing familiarity with Payoneer's platform, systems, and business operations.

Experience with both document databases (e.g., MongoDB) and relational databases (SQL / MSSQL).

Familiarity with AI and LLM platforms, agentic workflows, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.

Experience with SSO / SAML authentication, APIs, and system integration.

Prior contribution to an internal platform or developer-facing tooling.

Experience operating within a Windows / IIS hosting environment.
