What the posting says

Valsea is a comprehensive, highly scalable SaaS technology platform that orchestrates the operational core of various entertainment brands worldwide. Imagine a proprietary ecosystem where complex transaction flows are managed, compliance is automated, and critical operations are coordinated in real time. Now imagine that engine also has to make people want to come back. That's the gap this role closes. **Valsea is hiring the first person to own, end to end, everything that turns a one-off transaction into a habit**: bonuses, missions, tiers, wallets, and the CRM brain wired behind all of it. If "retention" means more to you than a number on a dashboard, keep reading. **Let’s shed some light on this! πŸ”¦** Valsea started in Marbella in 2018, building a single proprietary platform that runs payments, compliance and player accounts for several entertainment brands at once β€” instead of duct-taping together third-party tools for each one. Everything CRM, bonusing, gamification and third-party-integration-related sits inside a 14-person engineering group reporting to Andrew (CPO), split into two pods: real-time prize engine and third-party content aggregator, and one β€” nine people, with its own software dev manager, tech lead, and backend/frontend engineers already in place β€” focused on player engagement, retention and sports integrations. That second pod is the one this role leads. You'd be one of four product people reporting into Andrew: three existing PMs β€” one owns payments, content and landing pages, another owns our core entertainment platform, and the remaining one manages the bigger projects and our A/B testing initiatives β€” and you, owning everything on the engagement-side. There's also a product designer embedded in the pod, so this role isn't about doing the design work, but about being fluent enough in it to brief and push back well. The mandate is explicitly business and strategy first: translating priorities into clear requirements for a team that already has strong technical leadership, rather than being the technical decision-maker yourself. You lead the pod's roadmap and backlog, but you're not its people manager β€” the software dev manager and tech lead already cover day-to-day technical delivery and team management. That split is deliberate: it frees you up to spend your time on strategy, stakeholder alignment and requirements, which is exactly what Valsea told us they're optimising for in this hire. CRM/lifecycle marketing will be your most frequent collaborator outside the pod β€” most bonusing and campaign requirements land on your desk through them. Compliance and legal are close seconds, given how much of this area sits inside regulated territory. Expect Jira and Confluence day to day, alongside Smartico for CRM/campaign work. **Must-haves πŸ‘** * **A strong business and strategy mindset above all** β€” Valsea was explicit that this role is judged on commercial judgement and the ability to translate strategy into requirements, more than on technical depth (the pod already has a software dev manager and tech lead covering that). * **4+ years in Product Management**, with real exposure to bonusing/cashback mechanics, fintech wallets, or loyalty & rewards products. * **Comfort with sports product mechanics**, or a fast willingness to learn them β€” sports integrations are explicitly part of this pod's current mandate, not a future maybe. * **A track record of moving engagement numbers**, not just shipping features β€” sessions, feature adoption, time in product. * **Experience working with CRM/marketing-automation platforms** β€” Smartico, Optimove or similar β€” from a product-integration angle, not just as a campaign user. * **Comfortable defining KPIs** and reading cohort/retention data well enough to prioritise from it, not just report it upward. * **Comfortable directing a technical team's roadmap and backlog,** even without owning their people management day to day. * **Enough of a UI/UX eye to brief and challenge a product designer well** β€” you won't be designing, but you do need to speak the language. * **Advanced English** β€” your hiring manager and the wider team spans multiple locations, so this runs in English day to day. **Nice to have 🎁** * Familiarity with RTP and prize-pool economics. * Background in wallet or payments product work. * Multi-brand or multi-jurisdiction product experience. πŸ–οΈ 23 days of vacation πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€βš•οΈ Health care: Private medical insurance for you and your family. πŸ—£οΈ Continuous learning: Free English and Spanish classes and ongoing professional development opportunities. πŸ’» Pro equipment: Your laptop and everything you need will be sent to your home so your setup is the envy of the neighbourhood. πŸ«‚ A very fun team-building event across all teams, with guaranteed good vibes. PLUS in the Marbella office β˜€οΈβ€¦ * Luxury canteen: Daily breakfast and freshly cooked meals 3 days a week (monday-wednesday-friday | free of charge, of course). * Physical wellbeing: 50% discount on personal training and physiotherapy sessions. * Top facilities: Gym, massage room, games room, and a fully equipped kitchen with fruit, soft drinks, and coffee so you have everything you need.
