Anduril’s Quality organisation is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our team in Sydney, Australia. You will work inside & outside the organisation to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high quality & reliable products.
This role focuses on our Dive-XL product with opportunity. The right person for this role has knowledge of manufacturing, product development, sub-system performance criteria and metrology, and continuous improvement. The Quality team works with our internal teams, customers and suppliers to ensure the deployment of reliable products that meet all mission requirements. The Product Quality Engineer will support the Manufacturing/Production/Engineering/Supply Chain teams to ensure quality objectives are met and mitigate risks affecting production deliverables. Additionally, you'll investigate/ troubleshoot product and production issues, raise non-conformance tickets for triage, support product traceability, take corrective action as well as define and implement standards/ specifications/ processes across the QMS.
What You’ll Do
Work in a modern manufacturing environment supporting incoming inspection, in-process inspection and end of line inspection.
Lead Material review board processes to ensure timely resolution of non-conformances
Lead supplier quality assurance activities, including supplier development, qualification (PPAP/FAI), ongoing verification.
Propose, develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to support AS9100/ISO9001 certification
Support ongoing development of manufacturing work instructions
Review and propose continuous improvement projects for productivity gains, quality improvements, and benefits to Anduril's quality policy.
Support the calibration process of test equipment, jigs and fixtures.
Support internal and external audits on processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field
Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense/maritime or similar hardware.
Working knowledge of design review and quality management of PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites, propulsion systems and welding.
Experience driving product quality and performance requirements to test and measurement system development and optimization. Leading the transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing for product quality coverage.
Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements such as Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
Analytical skills and experiences for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, etc)
Ability to obtain and maintain an NV2 Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
5-7 years of experience with developing quality systems for low volume, high complex manufacturing environments and suppliers.
Working knowledge of AS 9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
Experience with IPC standards
Experience with government contracts and mil standard requirements.
Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks and Jira.
