Role Summary

Responsible for driving transportation procurement, freight optimization, and logistics excellence across the Americas. Leads regional sourcing initiatives with a primary focus on Ocean Freight while supporting transportation optimization across all modes where applicable. The role develops regional standards, carrier strategies, and transportation solutions to improve service, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and support business growth.

Success in this role is defined by delivering sustainable transportation cost reductions, improving service and carrier performance, driving transportation standardization, and implementing regional initiatives that support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics & Freight Excellence

Monitor transportation markets, freight rates, capacity developments, and industry trends.

Lead regional transportation tenders and sourcing initiatives, primarily for Ocean Freight.

Develop and implement standardized transportation processes, policies, and governance across the Americas.

Provide regular market intelligence and management reporting with recommendations for risk mitigation and cost optimization.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, service levels, and total logistics costs.

Transportation Procurement & Carrier Management

Lead end-to-end transportation RFPs and sourcing projects across multiple countries.

Develop sourcing strategies, bid packages, lane structures, and award recommendations.

Negotiate commercial agreements, freight rates, and service-level agreements with carriers and logistics providers.

Build and manage a high-performing carrier network that supports business requirements and growth.

Monitor carrier performance through defined KPIs and drive corrective actions where required.

Transportation Systems & Analytics

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and transportation digitalization initiatives.

Maintain regional freight tables, transportation master data, and reporting standards.

Develop transportation dashboards and performance analytics to support data-driven decision making.

Support freight budgeting, forecasting, and savings tracking activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or related field.

5-7+ years of experience in transportation procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.

Strong experience managing multi-country transportation RFPs and carrier negotiations.

Deep understanding of Ocean Freight markets and transportation networks across the Americas.

Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), freight analytics, and cost optimization.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience of operating effectively in a region / matrix organization

Fluency in English and Spanish is required, Portuguese is beneficial

The ability to travel across region Americas as required.
