What the posting says
We’re always interested in connecting with experienced Sales Managers who could be a great fit for our sales organization as Verge.io continues to grow.
As a Regional Sales Manager at Verge.io, you’ll own and grow a defined territory, developing new customer relationships and expanding opportunities within our existing customer base. You’ll help organizations rethink how they approach virtualization and infrastructure by positioning VergeOS as a simpler, more efficient alternative for modern data center environments.
This is a full-cycle sales role. You’ll build your territory, develop pipeline, lead complex opportunities, and work closely with technical and channel resources to turn customer challenges into meaningful business opportunities.
The Role:
You’ll take ownership of your territory and the opportunities within it, from initial prospecting through close and expansion. That includes:
Developing and executing a territory plan focused on building pipeline and achieving revenue targets
Identifying and engaging high-value target accounts
Prospecting into new accounts through outbound outreach, networking, events, partner relationships, and inbound opportunities
Leading the full sales cycle from discovery and qualification through negotiation and close
Building relationships with executives and key stakeholders across IT infrastructure, virtualization, and operations
Understanding each customer’s business priorities and infrastructure challenges to position VergeOS effectively
Managing complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities using a structured sales approach
Developing expansion opportunities within existing customer relationships
Maintaining a healthy, multi-stage pipeline and providing accurate forecasts
Keeping opportunity and account information current and accurate in Salesforce.
Who You Are
Successful Sales Managers at Verge.io are comfortable creating opportunities, not just managing ones.
You know how to build a territory, open doors, ask the right questions, and develop relationships across an organization. You can understand a customer’s technical challenges without needing to be the deepest technical expert in the room, and you know how to translate those challenges into business value.
You’re also comfortable working as part of a team. You’ll partner closely with a Solutions Architect on technical discovery, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and solution strategy, while working with our Channel team to develop partner relationships and partner-sourced opportunities.
Most importantly, you take ownership of your business, from pipeline development and account strategy to forecasting and ultimately closing revenue.
The Experience We’re Looking For
We typically look for:
7+ years of B2B technology sales experience, ideally within enterprise or infrastructure software
A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a complex, solution-oriented sales environment
Experience developing net-new business and building pipeline within a defined territory
Experience managing longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
The ability to build credibility and communicate business value with executives, technical leaders, and other stakeholders
Experience selling infrastructure software, virtualization, HCI, or adjacent technologies
Strong territory planning, account management, forecasting, and opportunity management skills
Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
Comfort operating with autonomy in a fast-moving, high-growth technology company
Additional Experience That’s Valuable
Experience in any of the following areas can be especially helpful:
Selling virtualization, HCI, storage, networking, or data center technologies
Competing against platforms such as VMware or Nutanix
Working with channel partners as part of a broader go-to-market strategy
Selling into MSP, CSP, enterprise, or other complex IT environments
Existing relationships within the geographic markets you’ve supported
