What the posting says

Before the detail, here's the challenge you'd help us solve.

We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that.

Here’s what this particular role covers.

Safety Assurance Analyst

🛡️ About our Safety Team

Wayve is looking for Safety Assurance Analysts to support the ongoing monitoring and assurance of safety performance across our operations. You'll play an important role in ensuring that operational safety controls are functioning effectively, identifying emerging risks, and providing clear, evidence-based insights that support safe and reliable operations.

Working with operational safety data, you'll review Vehicle Safety Operator (VSO) driving data, incidents, interventions, model flags, Driver Monitoring System (DMS) events, operational process evidence, and other safety-relevant information to identify trends, control failures, behavioral concerns, and emerging operational risks. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams and international time zones to deliver impactful safety metrics and operational insights, providing concrete evidence of Wayve's commitment to safe operations.

This is a hands-on, analytical role requiring strong attention to detail, impartial judgement, and the ability to translate complex operational information into actionable safety insights.

🧠 Your day-to-day

You'll execute day-to-day operational safety assurance activities, using dashboards, reporting tools, and safety performance monitoring systems to assess operational performance and validate the effectiveness of safety controls.

You'll become a power user of Wayve's operational dashboards, analyzing driving data, incidents, interventions, driver monitoring outputs, model flags, and field observations to identify trends, anomalies, and leading indicators of risk.

You'll also support safety investigations by collecting and reviewing evidence, reconstructing event timelines, identifying contributing factors, and documenting findings. Through recurring safety performance reports and investigation summaries, you'll help ensure that emerging risks and potential control failures are clearly understood and communicated.

🧩 What you'll be working on:

Monitoring operational safety performance: Review VSO driving data, incidents, interventions, model flags, DMS events, field observations, and other safety-relevant information to identify trends, anomalies, behavioral concerns, and emerging risks.

Validating operational safety controls: Execute assurance activities to assess whether operational controls and safety processes are functioning effectively, identifying potential control failures and areas requiring further investigation.

Analysing safety data and dashboards: Use Wayve's operational dashboards and reporting tools to interrogate safety metrics, identify patterns, and generate meaningful insights into operational safety performance.

Identifying leading indicators of risk: Analyze operational datasets, driver monitoring outputs, model flags, incidents, and field observations to identify early warning signs of potential safety concerns.

Supporting safety investigations: Collect and review evidence, reconstruct incident timelines, apply root-cause thinking, analyze contributing factors, and clearly document investigation findings.

Producing recurring safety reports: Prepare weekly safety performance packs, monthly assurance reports, investigation summaries, and incident write-ups that communicate findings clearly and support informed decision-making.

Maintaining data and evidence quality: Validate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of operational data while recognizing limitations in the underlying evidence.

Communicating actionable safety insights: Translate complex operational data and investigation findings into concise, objective, and actionable reports.

Maintaining impartial safety assurance: Apply consistent, evidence-based judgement when reviewing safety-relevant events, operational behaviours, incidents, and performance trends.

🙌 You should apply if:

You have strong working knowledge of operational dashboards, reporting tools, and safety performance monitoring systems.

You're comfortable becoming a power user of operational dashboards, extracting insights, identifying trends, and producing clear, recurring reports.

You bring strong data analytics literacy, including the ability to work with operational datasets, interrogate metrics, validate data quality, and recognize limitations in available evidence.

You have strong reporting capabilities and can prepare weekly safety performance packs, monthly assurance reports, investigation summaries, and incident write-ups.

You can identify leading indicators of risk from operational dashboards, datasets, incidents, driver monitoring outputs, model flags, and field observations.

You have investigation skills, including evidence collection, timeline reconstruction, root-cause thinking, contributing-factor analysis, and clear documentation of findings.

You understand operational safety principles and can interpret data in the context of real-world fleet operations.

You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy when reviewing and documenting safety-relevant information.

You're a strong written communicator who can translate complex operational data into clear, concise, and actionable reports.

You exercise sound, impartial judgement when assessing safety-relevant events, behaviors, incidents, and operational performance trends.

🌱 Not ticking every box? That's totally okay! If you're passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement.

More about Wayve:

🚀 Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalize and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human driven vehicles to intelligent machines.

Our ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve's mapless and hardware agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2 plus through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalizable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility.
