Requirements:

Have experience operating production systems, whether greenfield or brownfield, and understand what it takes to keep them reliable, observable, and secure

Have experience maintaining and developing platform products and enjoy enabling other engineers through reusable platforms and automation

Be proficient with several of the following tools and technologies: AWS core infrastructure components and platform products, AWS Media Services, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Kubernetes, relational databases, check_mk, Vinyl Cache, DNS, and Linux

Act as a role model when designing and maintaining automated pipelines, monitoring solutions, and infrastructure as code for development teams

Have experience as a software developer with a hands-on mentality, for example, with Python or PHP

Have experience with system security, mitigation of supply chain attacks, and security vulnerabilities

Have experience moderating meetings, feel confident and comfortable reading, writing, and speaking German and English at an excellent level, and can build a bridge between tech and business

Responsibilities:

Treat our internal platforms as products, with our product teams as customers, and continuously improve the developer experience they provide

Design reusable platform solutions for different personas and use cases, balancing cost, performance, and architectural requirements according to specific needs, allowing product teams to move faster and operate their software with minimal operational dependency on the DevOps team

Guide product teams on container usage, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps best practices, helping them build the skills to operate their own products successfully

Collaborate closely with product teams and other stakeholders, document technical decisions, and actively share knowledge to enable product teams to deliver impact for our artists, eliminate single points of failure, and strengthen team resilience

Continuously improve observability, monitoring solutions, and ways of working to ensure our SLAs and SLOs are met

Integrate security into our platforms and processes, maintain our platform products, and support product teams in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities

Facilitate our incident response process, enabling product teams to resolve production issues effectively and supporting root cause analyses and sustainable follow-up actions

Collaborate with business stakeholders and international technology teams across Universal Music, contributing to the unique connection between technology and music at Beats & Bytes, bringing a product-focused engineering mindset to solutions that support Universal Music, our artists and our business
