What the posting says

Our client is an established, family-owned industrial technology company headquartered near Zurich. Its systems run at customer sites in more than 60 countries. To keep them reachable and secure, it needs someone who can build and run the networks behind them, and who is comfortable intervening and troubleshooting when a customer's connection goes down.

What you'll do

Set up, run and troubleshoot site-to-site and remote-access VPNs to customer sites (IPsec, OpenVPN)

Configure and maintain firewalls (Fortinet, OPNsense and others)

Design and implement networks at customer sites: switching, routing, VLANs, WLAN

Find and fix network problems together with customers and colleagues around the world, remotely or on site

Install and roll out software on Windows and Linux systems

Build and maintain the internal test and lab networks

Keep network documentation clear and up to date, and help improve how the team works

What you bring

A completed IT or electrical engineering education (EFZ with further training, HF, FH or equivalent)

At least three years of hands-on experience in network or system engineering

Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewalls

Real experience with VPNs, ideally IPsec and OpenVPN

Working knowledge of Windows Server

A calm, customer-focused way of solving problems, including under pressure

Fluent German and English

Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site work

Nice to have

Linux administration

Scripting or automation (Python, Bash)

Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or Fortinet NSE

A background in network or cyber security

What's on offer

Room to shape the role and how things are done

Flexible working model with home office (up to 60%)

Individual training and certification budget

Comprehensive social benefits

A long-term position in a stable, family-owned company

Quality

Completeness: 45%

Not enough history yet to judge honesty signals.
