Join us to leverage cutting-edge innovation for impactful results and experience unparalleled support on your journey to success.

As Senior Product Manager, Marine Insurance, you will own the Marine Insurance product end to end, from strategy and roadmap through to first release and go-to-market. Working closely with the Lead Product Manager – Maritime & Logistics, you will build a new product offering that brings together Kpler's vessel, ownership, port, and trade-flow data to address critical challenges across the marine insurance value chain.

Your initial focus will be on building an exposure screening product for insured fleets, enabling customers to load their insured fleet, attach policy values, and continuously monitor exposure and accumulation against the live global fleet picture.

This is a high-impact opportunity to build a new product category from the ground up. You will work directly with underwriters, brokers, P&I clubs, claims and exposure-management teams, as well as Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure the product solves real customer problems and establishes Kpler as a trusted source of marine insurance intelligence.

The role is ideal for an experienced product leader who is comfortable operating in an ambiguous, early-stage environment and has a track record of taking B2B data, analytics, or SaaS products from concept through to customer adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Marine Insurance product strategy, vision, and roadmap, defining what gets built and in what order while balancing customer value, commercial opportunity, technical feasibility, and time to market.

Lead the development and delivery of the first Marine Insurance product release, focused on exposure screening across the live global fleet and enabling customers to monitor exposure and accumulation continuously.

Lead market and customer discovery with hull and cargo underwriters, war-risk underwriters, P&I clubs, brokers, claims, and exposure-management teams to understand customer needs and translate insights into product direction.

Define and refine the product proposition and customer experience, ensuring Kpler's data and intelligence are translated into clear, actionable outcomes for insurance professionals.

Establish the exposure and accumulation methodology underpinning the product, working with data and domain experts to ensure the methodology is credible, transparent, and trusted by underwriters and brokers.

Own positioning and competitive strategy, monitoring the marine insurance analytics landscape and clearly defining Kpler's differentiation and value proposition.

Lead the go-to-market strategy for the product, working with Sales and Marketing on positioning, packaging, pricing input, launch planning, and early customer adoption.

Identify and develop strategic partnerships across the insurance ecosystem that can accelerate adoption or strengthen the underlying data proposition.

Act as the key link between Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Marketing, creating alignment around product strategy, priorities, launch plans, and customer outcomes.

Track product performance, customer feedback, delivery progress, and key risks, using evidence and market insight to continuously refine the roadmap and maximise product impact.

Skills and Experience

5–7 years of Product Management or senior commercial experience, ideally within maritime data, shipping intelligence, marine insurance, or a closely related B2B data/SaaS environment.

Proven track record of owning products end-to-end, from strategy and customer discovery through to delivery, launch, and customer adoption.

Strong track record of translating complex customer needs into clear product strategy, roadmap priorities, and product requirements, working closely with Product and Engineering teams.

Strong understanding of the marine insurance data landscape, including exposure, accumulation, sanctions, and war-risk screening, as well as the wider competitive environment.

Experience operating in ambiguous, early-stage environments, with a pragmatic and iterative approach to building, launching, learning, and improving products.

Strong commercial and go-to-market experience, including product positioning, packaging, pricing input, launch planning, and working closely with Sales and Marketing.

Strong data and analytical literacy, with the ability to work effectively with data and engineering teams and understand maritime and trade data concepts such as AIS, ownership, and trade flows.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across technical, commercial, and senior external audiences.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence stakeholders across different levels and functions.

Strong ownership mindset and a bias to action, with the confidence to make decisions, navigate uncertainty, and focus on delivering outcomes rather than perfection.

Nice to have

Direct experience within marine insurance, particularly hull and machinery, cargo, war risk, or P&I.

Experience building and launching a new product line rather than managing an established product.

An established network across underwriters, brokers, and P&I clubs.

Understanding of the regulatory environment affecting marine insurance, including sanctions regimes and war-risk designations.
