Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Description

The Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports regulatory compliance across HelloFresh’s Meal Kit and Factor businesses, ensuring products, ingredients, labels, and menu information meet applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards. This role works closely with cross-functional partners to review regulatory information, identify and resolve compliance risks, and support accurate and timely execution in a fast-paced environment.

The position plays an important role in providing regulatory coverage across the business, including Thursday–Monday support for menu changes, ingredient substitutions, labeling updates, and other time-sensitive regulatory needs.

What You’ll Do

Review and approve regulatory and labeling information for HelloFresh Meal Kit and Factor products.

Support Factor labeling updates and changes, ensuring ingredient statements, allergen declarations, Nutrition Facts, claims, and other required information are accurate and compliant.

Review Meal Kit menus, recipes, ingredients, and substitutions for regulatory compliance, including time-sensitive changes that occur later in the week or over the weekend.

Evaluate products and ingredients against applicable U.S. regulatory requirements and escalate potential compliance risks when appropriate.

Review ingredient specifications, supplier documentation, product information, and supporting regulatory documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Partner cross-functionally with Product, Culinary, Procurement, FSQA, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve regulatory questions and support business needs.

Support new product, ingredient, and menu launches by ensuring regulatory requirements are identified and addressed prior to implementation.

Maintain accurate regulatory documentation and records to support compliance, traceability, and audit readiness.

Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding labeling, allergens, claims, ingredient declarations, and other regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve regulatory processes, documentation, workflows, and tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.

Provide regulatory support and escalation coverage Thursday through Monday to ensure time-sensitive menu, labeling, ingredient, and substitution issues are addressed quickly and appropriately.

What You’ll Bring

3+ years of relevant experience in food regulatory affairs, food labeling, food safety, or a related field.

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biological Science, or a related discipline preferred but not required. In lieu of a degree, 3 years of relevant food safety or regulatory experience will be considered.

Working knowledge of U.S. FDA and USDA food labeling and regulatory requirements.

Experience reviewing Nutrition Facts panels, ingredient statements, allergen declarations, claims, and other food labeling information.

Experience interpreting ingredient specifications and regulatory documentation and translating requirements into actionable guidance for business partners.

Knowledge of Canadian food labeling and regulatory requirements is an asset.

Experience working with labeling, specification, regulatory data, or related software systems.

Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential compliance risks and determine appropriate next steps.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain regulatory requirements clearly to non-regulatory stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Strong cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work a Thursday–Monday schedule to provide regulatory support during critical business coverage periods.
