What the posting says
At JFrog, we’re reinventing DevSecOps to help the world’s greatest companies innovate. Our team of industry-leading software security experts are true pioneers, constantly pushing the boundaries with original research and technological innovation. JFrog is a special place with a unique combination of brilliance, spirit, and just all-around great people. Thousands of customers, including the majority of the Fortune 100, trust JFrog to manage, accelerate, and secure their software delivery from code to production – a concept we call “liquid software”. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could join us on our journey?
JFrog is seeking an exceptional and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Experience group and drive AI enablement across our ~700-person product and engineering organization. Our mission is that every engineer at JFrog is augmented by AI across the entire software development lifecycle, and that the capabilities we build are self-service by default. You'll be the fourth engineer on a team where AI enablement is everyone's main focus, alongside making our developer-facing services self-service.
Most of your time will be hands-on, building tooling, integrating new tools, and running POCs and demos to prove what works. But the role only succeeds if teams actually adopt what you introduce, so expect a meaningful share of your week to be working directly alongside partner teams. If you are energized by work with impact that is measured across an entire engineering organization rather than a single team, this is the opportunity for you.
As a Senior Software Engineer at JFrog, you will...
Design, build, and operate tooling that brings AI and agentic workflows into daily engineering practice, including shared agent skills, MCP servers, and LLM gateway integrations
Drive adoption across engineering teams - partner directly with them to embed AI into their workflows, establish shared practices, and measure the outcomes
Evaluate emerging AI tools, models, and frameworks, and recommend standards for JFrog engineering
Deliver every capability as a self-service - discoverable, documented, API-first, and consumable by both people and agents
Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and DevOps to translate business objectives into platform capabilities, and publish adoption data
Work with a modern AI and platform stack - Python, Go, and Java, LLM APIs, MCP servers and agent skills, Docker and Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions - while developing deeper expertise across it
To be a Senior Software Engineer at JFrog, you need…
Development Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and managing scalable systems on cloud infrastructure
AI & LLM Experience: Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into working software, plus daily use of AI coding tools in your own work
Server-Side Proficiency: A server-side development background, with fluency in at least one of the following: Python, Go, or Java
Cloud & Orchestration: Solid working experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and practical experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Communication & Influence: Strong written and spoken English, and a demonstrated ability to influence engineers and stakeholders across organizational boundaries without direct authority
Significant Advantages
Experience enabling or upskilling other engineering teams, whether on AI tooling or developer productivity more broadly
Experience building agentic systems - agentic frameworks, MCP servers, or agent skills - and shipping them for others to use
Deep infrastructure background - networking, computing, and platform operations at scale
Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable)
Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) and self-service developer portals
Familiarity with the broader DevSecOps toolchain (JFrog Artifactory, GitLab, SonarQube, security scanners, coding agents)
