Senior SW Engineer – Embedded Linux SDK & Distribution (M/W/D)

Mobileye is looking for a passionate Systems Software Developer to join the Operating System Team in the

EyeQ Platform Software Group. While many work on Linux, we work in Linux. Our team is responsible for the

core OS DNA of the EyeQ computer vision SoC, defining how the system starts, is composed, and manages its

lifecycle in a high-performance automotive environment.

We are looking for an experienced systems engineer to join our Core Distribution team. The center of this role

is the Linux userspace and the distribution itself: boot and service bring-up, root filesystem composition, and

the integration of external SDK into that platform. You will also build Python-based deployment tooling so the

OS and SDK stack can be provisioned reproducibly - infrastructure and tool development in service of the OS.

What will your job look like

Architect and develop Linux userspace and service bring-up so the distribution boots into a consistent,

operational platform under embedded constraints.

Enable and integrate an SDK into the OS image - drivers, libraries, runtimes, and filesystem layout as

first-class distribution components.

Own distribution composition, including packages, sysroots, and image features that make the SDK and

core OS a maintainable, versioned platform.

Develop Python-based deployment tooling to provision targets with a reproducible OS + SDK environment

(image delivery, flashing, and environment setup).

Debug at the OS boundary - init/service failures, library and ABI mismatches, missing dependencies, and

SDK/runtime issues on the target.

Perform root cause analysis on system-level failures in the distribution, from boot and userspace bring-up

through a fully operational stack.

Collaborate on board bring-up, tailoring the distribution and SDK integration to new EyeQ generations and

related target hardware.

All you need is:

Outstanding graduate in Computer Science or similar field.

5+ years of experience in Embedded Linux development, with a focus on systems software, userspace, or

distribution work.

Strong C/C++ skills and a solid understanding of POSIX APIs, libraries, and how userspace talks to the

kernel.

Deep knowledge of Linux Internals, specifically the boot process (Bootloaders, Kernel hand-off, Init

systems) and root filesystem layout.

Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux Distributions (e.g., custom Yocto recipes, Buildroot, or

Linux-from-scratch).

Experience enabling vendor SDKs or BSP stacks on Linux — integrating third-party drivers, runtimes, and

userspace components into a custom image.

Proficiency in debugging tools like GDB, Valgrind, strace, and perf.

Experience with Python for infrastructure and tool development — deployment, packaging, and

environment setup.

Nice to have:

Background in Automotive Software .\

Experience with GPU/accelerator compute stacks (driver + userspace runtime, inference/compute

libraries, cross-sysroot workflows).

Familiarity with reading hardware schematics and reasoning about basic hardware interfaces and signal.
