What the posting says
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
Team and Role Overview:
Anduril's Expeditionary Systems team designs and delivers containerized command centers, datacenter-strength AI capabilities, launched effects, and sensing systems for US and Allied militaries. These complete, mission-ready solutions provide survivable, intensive compute at the edge and enable rapid, low-cost deployment of proliferated, survivable capabilities across the entire military echelon.
Our product areas include:
Command & Control — deployable, certified command centers for tactical and operational headquarters
AI Factories — ruggedized, high-density compute platforms that bring datacenter- class AI processing to the tactical edge
Effects — containerized launcher and weapon system platforms enabling rapid deployment of proliferated, survivable strike capabilities
Sensing — expeditionary sensor systems in transportable form factors
We're seeking a Systems Engineer to join a lean, high-output team where every engineer has direct impact on fielded products. You'll own systems engineering across the full lifecycle — from concept and architecture through integration, test, and deployment — on products that go to real units in real operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Architecture & Design
Develop system architectures and lead design trades across mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, and power domains
Decompose operational needs into system and subsystem requirements with clear traceability, testability, and allocation
Create and maintain systems engineering artifacts including ICDs, system block diagrams, ConOps, and requirements specifications
Drive SWaP, transportability, survivability, and human factors trades that shape the product from day one
Lead and support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with technical rigor and cross-functional alignment
Integration, Verification & Validation
Own verification and validation planning and execution across analysis, inspection, demonstration, and test
Support system integration activities, troubleshooting cross-discipline issues as hardware, software, and firmware come together
Conduct FMEA/FMECA and manage technical risk throughout the development lifecycle
Support environmental qualification campaigns (thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, transportation)
Travel to field exercises, deployments, and customer sites to validate system performance, support operators, and bring feedback back to the design team
Documentation & Process
Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs), Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs), and program documentation
Utilize modern systems engineering tools (Cameo, MBSE/SysML, Jama, DOORS) to model architectures, manage requirements, and maintain traceability
Build documentation that enables customers to operate, maintain, and sustain Anduril products in the field without on-site support
Ensure compliance with applicable MIL-STDs and defense standards
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
2-6 years of systems engineering experience in a complex, multidisciplinary environment
Experience developing, documenting, and maturing systems from design through production or fielding
Ability to work across engineering disciplines — comfortable engaging with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams
Strong requirements development and documentation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred:
Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Experience with containerized, expeditionary, or ruggedized military systems
Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD-461, -810, -1275, -1316, -1760)
Experience with systems engineering tools: Cameo, MBSE/SysML, DOORS, Jama
Experience with weapon system integration, launch systems, C2 systems, or high-performance compute platforms
Exposure to rapid prototyping and hardware delivery on compressed timelines
Field support or deployment experience with military end users
Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field
