Senior Technical Instructor

About the Role:

The technical instructor will be responsible for classroom and virtual delivery of Kong technical training. You will be working at a hectic and fast-paced startup as a member of the education team. This team is responsible for creating and delivering both online and instructor-led training to Kong customers and partners.

Above all, you’ll be acting as a stellar teammate for the rest of Kong.

What You’ll be Doing:

Working with a diverse team of people from all over the world

Deliver in-person and virtual instructor-led training offerings to diverse audiences including engineers, solutions architects, managers and operations personnel

Managing training sessions, addressing any issues that arise and keeping learners on track

Developing and optimizing curricula and associated training materials to support our internal and external training needs

Analyzing customer training requirements

Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects and deliverables

Prior experience in API management preferred

Proficient in Linux environments including Cloud and Development tooling

5+ years developing curriculum for technical or software training courses including instructor-led materials, self-paced e-learning modules, and job aids

Ability to cater to multiple learning methods and to match the appropriate methods with the subject matter and audience

Experience working with a content management system, knowledge base, and/or online reference for learning

Can explain the benefits of using APIs and API governance clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to travel to customer and Kong locations as-needed
