What the posting says
About Docker
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.

Docker is looking for a Senior Total Rewards Partner to design, manage, and improve compensation, equity, and benefits programs for our global team.
You’ll bring broad compensation expertise and pair strong analytical skills with clear communication, helping build out and maintain, as well as execute, our total rewards philosophy, helping leaders make informed decisions and employees understand their total rewards. Working across functions, you’ll build programs that support Docker’s goals and help us attract, retain, and motivate great talent.
Responsibilities

Own and evolve core compensation programs, including our job architecture, base pay structures, merit and promotion cycles, and market benchmarking.
Design and manage new hire and retention equity programs, including restricted stock unit (RSU) grant guidelines, vesting structures, and refresh strategies that support attraction and long-term retention.
Global Benefits
Manage and improve benefits programs across Docker’s entities in the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, and France, partnering with local brokers and vendors to maintain compliant, competitive offerings.
Balance local requirements and employee needs with a consistent global approach to total rewards, and help employees understand the benefits available to them.
Data, Analytics, and Business Partnership
Build models, dashboards, and analyses that support compensation decisions, budget planning, and market benchmarking.
Translate data into clear recommendations, helping the business understand costs, options, and tradeoffs.
Anticipate how changes in Docker’s business and talent needs should shape our total rewards programs.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to make informed, consistent rewards decisions.
Communication and Change Management
Lead communication and change planning for total rewards initiatives, involving stakeholders early and preparing managers to support their teams.
Create clear communications, manager talking points, and FAQs that explain what is changing, why it matters, and how it affects employees.
Help employees and leaders understand how compensation, equity, and benefits fit together as part of Docker’s total rewards strategy.
Serve as a trusted advisor on total rewards, bringing sound judgment, reliable follow-through, and a willingness to share expertise and mentor teammates.
Qualifications
Required
8+ years of progressive compensation experience, including ownership of core compensation programs.
Direct experience building and administering new hire and retention equity programs, including RSUs.
Strong analytical skills, including advanced modeling and the ability to turn complex data into practical recommendations.
Experience working with compensation planning tools.
A track record of aligning total rewards programs with business priorities and talent strategy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex rewards topics clearly to employees and leaders.

Experience supporting benefits programs in a global, multi-entity environment.
Experience at a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
Experience with benefits programs in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, or France.
