Senior WordPress Technical Lead – Fractional Contract (US Remote, Award-Contingent)

Rillbench Studio is seeking an experienced senior WordPress technical lead for a prospective community media website project. This is a fractional, paid contract opportunity for someone delivering the work from the United States.

IMPORTANT: AWARD-CONTINGENT OPPORTUNITY

The project has not been awarded. Any engagement is conditional on project award and a separate written agreement. There are no guaranteed hours or start date. We are discussing availability for early 2027. Compensation will be negotiated and agreed before any engagement. No pre-award deliverables or unpaid project work are requested.

THE ROLE

You would provide hands-on technical leadership and independent judgment across:

WordPress architecture, implementation standards, and technical direction

Integrations and content migration planning and review

Accessibility, security, and performance decisions within your expertise, including identifying when specialist input is needed

Technical review of implementation, milestone acceptance, and release readiness

Selected technical discussions with the client

HOW WE WORK

Rillbench’s operator coordinates agent-led implementation. The human technical lead has real review and approval authority over technical decisions, milestone acceptance, and release readiness. You should be comfortable reviewing AI-assisted work critically, requiring changes when needed, and taking responsibility for the technical judgments you approve.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Strong experience leading WordPress projects, with evidence of sound architecture and delivery judgment. Relevant experience with integrations, migrations, accessible websites, and performance and security review is valuable. Please be clear about your own contributions to past projects and the areas where you would bring in specialist expertise.
