We are hiring a Senior Manager, People Business Partner to drive the design and execution of our talent strategy for our Go-To-Market (GTM) function, serving our global sales organization. This is a leadership role for an People strategist with deep, hands-on experience managing the full employee lifecycle for sales teams—from workforce planning and onboarding through performance management, development, and retention.

You excel at orchestrating sales-centric organizational frameworks by partnering strategically with People & Culture Centers of Excellence across compensation, talent acquisition, benefits, and other People functions.You understand the unique dynamics of sales organizations, roles and compensation models, translate sales business strategy into integrated talent initiatives, and lead cross-functional execution that drives measurable revenue outcomes.

You will partner closely with GTM and sales leadership to design talent systems, collaborate with People & Culture COEs and regional PBPs to ensure consistent program delivery and global alignment, and drive execution of impactful People solutions that support sales excellence, rep productivity, and revenue growth at scale.

You will report to the Sr. Director of People Business Partnerships. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our Bellevue, WA office.

You Will:

Partner with GTM leadership to support workforce planning and organizational design strategy, ensuring alignment to business objectives, revenue targets, and strategic priorities.

Develop and implement sales-aligned talent management frameworks including performance management, retention strategies, and development programs that drive accountability and measurable business outcomes.

Coach and mentor GTM management to build capability and ensure consistent execution of People programs and practices across the GTM organization.

Partner with GTM leadership on organizational design and workforce optimization initiatives that improve operational efficiency, clarify roles and decision rights, strengthen accountability, and support sales effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional COEs to design and implement sales-aligned talent systems and programs that remain competitive and support revenue growth.

Serve as strategic advisor to GTM and sales leadership on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent optimization, compensation alignment, and strategic talent initiatives.

Drive data-informed decision-making by monitoring organizational health metrics specific to sales, identifying trends and opportunities, and partnering with leadership to translate insights into action.

Support People & Culture initiatives and special projects as business needs evolve.

You Have:

7+ years of progressive People Business Partner experience with 3+ years leading teams.

Significant experience supporting sales functions, with deep understanding of sales organization dynamics, sales compensation, talent acquisition for sales roles, and sales-specific retention challenges.

Proven track record in a SaaS or software company environment, with experience supporting a scaling sales organization.

Proven ability to support the design and implementation talent frameworks and programs (performance management, organizational design, compensation alignment, retention strategies) that drive measurable business outcomes for sales teams.

Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate organizational metrics and insights into strategic recommendations.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field; or equivalent years of relatable Human Resources experience

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.

US Base Salary Pay Range

$162,500—$192,500 USD
