ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly accomplished backend software engineer with extensive experience in leading and building customer facing performant backend services. You will be on the team that creates and expands Peloton’s e-commerce presence on the web, retail and other sales channels. You will be a hands-on technical lead on the team that will be working to build highly scalable and disjoint backend platforms and services for our users, both internal and external.
YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
Be a hands-on technical leader with focus on delivery of small to large initiatives
Guide the team to make strategic technical decisions that enable fast, reliable execution, and that maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
Work within an agile development environment with peer engineers, designers, and product managers on a daily basis to scope, develop and deliver a software experience that realizes the product strategy
Be a part of a positive and inclusive culture that is hyper-focused on cultivating growth and learning for both engineers and non-engineers
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
6+ years software development experience, including leadership over delivery of high impact projects
Experience with Java, Kotlin, Python or similar languages
Experience building and scaling out RESTful microservices
Experience with large-scale event processing & messaging technologies like Kafka and Amazon SQS
Familiarity with accessing, querying and writing to data stores like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
Experience with Spring Boot, Docker and Kubernetes
Experience in Unit Testing/Test Driven Development
Experience in cloud infrastructure like AWS/GCP
Experience with mentoring junior engineers
Working knowledge of GraphQL
Experience working with DataDog or similar monitoring tools
Strong desire to learn and mentor engineers, helping them achieve their highest potential
An agile mindset that embraces iterative design
Experience with end to end feature ownership and working with cross-functional partners
BONUS
Experience working on an ecommerce product
Working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like React and Next.js
Experience using the latest AI tools in your daily engineering tasks
Have a DevOps mentality and experience with CI/CD pipelines

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including, without limitation, experience and business objectives and if the location for the job changes.
