About the Opportunity
Skyven Technologies is revolutionizing the technology and economics of industrial steam. Our Arcturus high-temperature heat pump delivers steam at lower cost and emissions than traditional boilers. Customers can deploy the system via CAPEX or through an innovative Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model with zero upfront CAPEX and savings from day one. We are hiring a Senior Technical Sales Engineer, Europe as a key role in our growing our European operations. This is an opportunity to make a real impact at an innovative and growing industrial tech company.
About the Role
This role sits at the forefront of Arcturus adoption across Europe. The technical sales engineer will generate the techno-economic case for Arcturus integration at customer facilities using engineering and thermodynamics expertise. The work blends hands-on analysis, customer engagement and relationship-building, and collaboration with our internal sales and engineering teams. To be successful in this role, you must have a customer-first mindset, be detail-oriented, be able to learn and adapt quickly, have excellent communication skills, and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
Responsibilities
Develop site-specific Arcturus integration concepts grounded in first-principles thermodynamics:
Interpret customer P&IDs to identify tie-in points, process impacts, and risks
Build PFDs and heat and mass balances for first-level sanity and feasibility checks
Own the full techno-economic case for each opportunity:
Process integration (as described above), heat exchanger selection, and heat pump siting
Scope electrical infrastructure needs
Model economics, including steam demand and waste heat modeling, utility rate forecasting, etc
Brief in-house engineering teams on the technical requirements of the deal.
Define and analyze the plant data required to advance a project:
Understand the data needed at each project stage (FEL 0, 1, 2) versus what the customer can provide
Provide data-backed risk mitigation to address customer concerns
Conduct site visits to industrial facilities:
Install metering equipment to capture heat source, steam demand, and process data
Interview plant staff across roles to understand plant operations
Interpret new information in real time and adjust techno-economic approach as needed
Build trust with plant staff
Communicate persuasively, internally and externally:
Produce technical narratives, diagrams, slides, graphs, and write-ups for technical and commercial audiences
Lead technical calls: understand customer needs, address objections, and steer toward the right solution
Coordinate with external partners and internal teams to keep projects moving
Contribute to RFIs to ensure the final engineered design meets customer expectations
Requirements
5+ years engineering experience related to energy, utilities, or process engineering in the industrial process space
Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related field
Experience using Microsoft Excel for technical and economic analysis
Experience collaborating with internal sales and project management teams
Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of taking ownership and finding paths forward
Fluent English and authorization to work in your country of residence in Europe
Preferred
Experience working with manufacturing customers, contractors, vendors, and design firms
Experience with industrial projects
Familiarity with European energy markets, policy, grants, and incentives
