On the Core Experience team, you shape the foundation that millions of people already use every day — rethinking how the app's most important surfaces are structured, not just how they look. Robinhood keeps growing into new products and markets, and this role makes sure the core experience scales right alongside it — a big, visible opportunity that lives or dies on the details. We ship constantly — this team moves in weeks, not quarters.

The Core Experience team rebuilds the foundation of core Robinhood products, taking an experimentation-first approach on some of our highest-visibility, most-used surfaces. We move quickly, test broadly, and iterate with purpose. Our culture values confidence, flexibility, and the ability to turn ambiguity into momentum — and we partner closely with Product to balance great user experience with real business impact.

As a Product Designer on this team, you combine big-picture systems architecture with pixel-perfect craft. You'll own the core app shell — Home, Watchlists, Search, and beyond — rapidly generating and testing ideas across multiple product domains on surfaces that millions of users interact with every single day. You'll bring a strong point of view to your work and make the case for design decisions that involve real business trade-offs, including in conversations with executive leadership. The work is fast, visible, and consequential.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you'll do

Set and hold the visual quality bar across the core app shell — including work you don't own directly — for surfaces millions of users see every day.

Rapidly generate and test a broad range of incremental changes across the mobile app using an experimentation-first approach (A/B testing, concept sprints, iteration at speed).

Design for the core app shell — Home, Watchlists, Search, and the surfaces that connect them — across multiple product domains.

Present design concepts directly to executive leadership with clarity and confidence, making the case for decisions that involve real business trade-offs.

Partner tightly with Product Managers and engineers to deliver great experiences in fast-moving environments — with the autonomy to define the problem, not just solve it.

What you bring

Proven experience designing for consumer mobile applications on high-visibility surfaces, with a strong sense of how product structure and navigation hold up at scale.

A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual craft and execution, from an in-house or agency background.

Real experience with experimentation methodologies — A/B testing, rapid concept generation, iterating based on data.

Confidence in your design decisions and the ability to navigate shifting requirements, advocate for your choices, and adapt without losing quality.

A collaborative approach to cross-functional relationships and genuine curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI tools in the design process.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$191,000—$225,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$168,000—$198,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$150,000—$176,000 USD
