An overview of this role
As Staff Product Manager, AI Software Factory PLG, you’ll shape how developers discover, adopt, and get lasting value from GitLab’s AI-powered software creation experience, from planning and specification through coding, review, and verification.
You’ll connect capabilities across GitLab Duo Agent Platform and related product areas into a coherent experience, and own the product strategy for growing its adoption. You’ll make it easier for an individual developer to get started, reach value quickly, and bring the experience into their team and organization.
This is a senior individual-contributor role for a product leader who combines strong product judgment with a track record in enterprise product-led growth. You understand how self-serve adoption works in complex B2B products, including the needs of end users, administrators, and buyers, and how product usage can support broader evaluation and expansion.
What you’ll do
Define and maintain a 12–18-month product strategy for a cross-team part of GitLab’s AI Software Factory, with customer adoption and growth as core outcomes.
Own the adoption journey from discovery and onboarding through activation, time-to-first-value, repeat usage, team adoption, retention, and conversion or expansion.
Identify friction in the end-user, administrator, and buyer journeys, and prioritize improvements that help customers realize value and broaden adoption.
Set outcome measures for product and growth initiatives; use product usage data, customer feedback, and experiments to evaluate impact and adjust direction.
Build a steady test-and-learn approach, including clear hypotheses, experiment design, and sharing results and learnings across partner teams.
What you’ll bring
Product management experience leading complex technical or multi-team products from strategy through delivery and iteration.
Required: Demonstrated success in enterprise B2B PLG or growth, with measurable impact on activation, time-to-value, adoption, retention, conversion, or expansion—including scaling from individual use to team or organization-wide adoption.
Hands-on experience using customer research, product analytics, funnel and cohort analysis, and experimentation to identify growth opportunities and measure results.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with AI products, developer tools, DevSecOps, or other technical B2B software.
Sound technical judgment and a track record of influencing cross-functional teams, resolving tradeoffs, and communicating product decisions clearly in ambiguous environments.
We welcome candidates with different backgrounds and transferable experience. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every qualification.
About the team
This role works across GitLab to connect teams building the future of our AI-powered DevSecOps platform. You’ll partner closely with the GitLab Duo Agent Platform organization and with product areas that own key parts of the software development workflow. The team’s challenge is to turn work delivered across several groups into one clear, end-to-end experience—and to help more users discover, adopt, and realize value from it through product-led growth.
